Dinner reservations at Corsica 32 tonight for two. Restaurant is busy tonight so quite loud. We have to wait 20 minutes for our table to finish before we can sit even with our reservation. Restaurant is white walls and chairs with industrial feeling light fixtures. Minimal art hung throughout restaurant. Kitchen is open towards the bar and front door area. So we peak in on the way to our table. Table is set minimally. No salt, pepper or other condiments, has one candle and no wine glasses. We decide to share dishes tonight and order arugula and fennel salad, in house made ricotta, and a tagliatelle and one cavatelli pastas. Arugula fennel and roasted hazelnut salad is dressed perfectly and presented with two ribbons of Parmesan cheese. Great flavors. In house made ricotta and crostini arrive while enjoying our salad. Crostini are toasted and arrive still warm. Ricotta is a large portion, is creamy in texture and dressed with black pepper and rosemary. Tagliatelle with pork sausage, cream and Parmesan arrives again already spilt for us. In house made pasta is cooked perfectly. Sauce is creamy with great flavor and is full of sausage meat. Cavatelli is served with sausage and broccoli Rabi. Once again in house made pasta cooked to perfection, full of flavor and split in the kitchen. Drinks of Peroni and Negrio for the table. Service is stellar all night. Chatty, friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Enjoyed our visit.

Weve been there a couple times now. Have yet to be disappointed. Great staff. Great food. Great drinks. Definitely earns its reputation. Need a reservation and it books up early. Need to plan ahead for this one.

Disappointed considering the hype for this restaurant. Pasta was just ‘okay’ for the price. It was awkward to be sitting so close to another couple. Seating is cramped. Overall, don’t think I will go back.

Amazing food, amazing service. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Edmonton. Quality of the food was amazing, very savoury depending on what you get.

The food deserves a 10 stars above the 5. It is well done and well presented. The chef does an incredible job. The only issue is the inside, I felt wayyyy to close to the table next to me.

Whipped Goat Ricotta: house made goat cheese that was very smooth and seasoned properly, it was served with buttered toasted bread.Pappa al Pomodoro: a different take on the soup, instead of soup it was fried pappa al’pomodoro with basil and parmigiano and olive oil, it was tasty, but nothing specialBelgian Endive Alla Piastra: this was a flavourful dish, it was cooked nicely and all the ingredients went together very nicely – almonds, parmigiano, balsamicoTonnarelli: San Marzano Tomato Sugo, Basil, Percorino and parmigiano – this was loaded with flavour and the house made pasta makes it a delightful dish. Lots of flavour dimensions with the fresh basil and the pasta and the tomatoes…so good.Pasta Special: Pasta filled with cheese and topped with sage butter, it was very tasty and fresh, but just a bit to much sage butter which made the dish a bit heavier than I would of liked it.Pannacotta: Nice to have pannacotta that is properly done and the grape sauce and pistachios finished it off perfectly.Gelato Affogato: Lots of flavour, if you like strong coffee and the taste of liquor with homemade ice cream then this is for youService: Was well done and patient and helpful.Appearance: restaurant was clean, but the chairs are very uncomfortable, especially for elderly people

Corso 32 is pretty notorious in the Edmonton food scene, being well known but not well traversed due to its lengthy wait times. I myself had to book a month and a half in advance and even then we were dining outside of what would normally be considered supper hours, if you want to eat at a normal time or you are booking during a peak season or around holidays you need 2 or even 3 months of foresight. So needless to say there is a lot of hype around Corso 32. Does it live up to the hype? Sort of. 50/50 lets say.For starters, the first thing I noticed was that the service was awful. we had this mousey misanthrope girl who was kind of arrogant and did that thing where you are obviously intentionally being awkward or uncomfortable, like as if she enjoyed making people feel unwelcome or just left scratching their heads. The food was great, but not great enough considering the hype and the price of a place like this. for example, the whipped goat ricotta was too rich and we felt borderline queezy by the end of the appetizer. Though in all fairness my main was spectacular, but for a place like this I would expect EVERYTHING to be spectacular, I shouldn’t have to sift the menu. They serve some interesting specials that are off-menu, I cannot vouch for the quality and variety on an ongoing basis, but at least when we went everything was interesting and unusual which is always cool for the specials. Price is exorbitant. Even factoring out our wine, the meal cost around 50% more that other fine dining establishments, but after the bottle it was well over double what I normally pay for an evening of upscale dining. I think places like this are for the Edmonton elite, if you can just not care about cost and have the clout to worm your way onto the reservation list this place is probably pretty cool, but I’d say as a regular joe diner this place might be a ‘once every two or three years’ kind of place. Too much hassle, too much cost, and not quite the quality you would reasonably expect, all things considered.
