Excellent!. Went here for lunch today and the food was great and reasonably priced. I tried the lemon / strawberry gelato (VERY good, tasted exactly like it did when I went to Rome) and the coffee was among the best i’ve tasted. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick lunch / treat downtown.

Hidden jewel. The specialty here is the gelato…. and the sorbetto……. and the frozen yogurt concotions! Hidden inside the lobby of U of A’s Enterprise Square, this Italian place has over 50 kinds of frozen delights in a wide range of flavours. Their coffee drinks are good, baked goods are mediocre and they also have the obligatory salads and panini, but they truly shine in the frozen dessert section.Only complaint is regarding the hours of operation- they seem to close too early (5PM?) and also closed on weekends. so little chance to visit unless you work in Downtown. They would do a roaring business if the shop was on Whyte or Jasper Ave instead.
I will definitely NOT be coming back here anytime soon. My bf and I came here for gelato because of the positive reviews online. The flavor choice was disappointing and nothing special. I tasted the mango and it didn’t taste anything like mango. I then tried the pistachio and the flavor was flat. I got a scoop of the lemon because I thought how could you go wrong with lemon? Well with this place apparently you can. It tasted a little freezer burned. My bf got Banana Chocolate Swirl but there was only enough for half a scoop so the guy helping us (who definitely needs a crash course in customer service) said he could have another half scoop of a different flavor so my bf asked for strawberry. The scoop came out larger than mine and when we got to the register, we were charged extra because my bf’s scoop was larger than a regular scoop even though that’s what we ordered but instead we were charged because the counter guy didn’t know how to make 2 half scoops. I didn’t even bother with correcting his mistake. I’m just never coming back and I urge anyone looking for a half decent scoop of gelato and/or half decent customer service to look elsewhere or be disappointed if they come here.
