Applewood Smoked Bacon Benny, Cappuccino, Smoked Salmon and Potato RostiOnly reason to eat here is probably after regretting you bought your gf a 2k LV bag. Bacon Benny had spinach, tomato, poached eggs, toasted sourdough, house potatoes. The hollandaise wasnt very flavorful at all and I could barely taste the applewood smoke on that shit bacon. Not to mention there was no option on how soft or hard you can get your eggs. Savages. Cappucino was only offered with 2% milk which is kinda shit when the cafe is next to a rack of Moncler jackets going for 1500 each. Get a lactose free milk or almond, or anything. Smoked salmon dish had spinach, poached egg, feta, cherry tomato, saffron hollandaise, pistachio. The salmon here was average and had the same hollandaise problem like the first dish. Presentation wise, both looked good but didnt taste well.Located in Holt Renfrew in the downtown core, this place was not impressive. Service was fast and friendly and the only thing that I was impressed with was the lemon water. It was seriously lemony. Prices are a bit steep for the quality you get but this is Holts, pretty much the theme here.Sal says: Just Skip It (2/5)@duchessgummybunzz says: Holts hollandaise leaves much to be desired. Normally I would ask for more but i didn’t even bother. Everything else was also subpar. The mimosa wasn’t v boozy at all so it didn’t help me sit through a poop meal.#yeg #yegdt #food #foodie #foodporn #foodgasm #foodpics #foodstagram #instafood #delicious #hungry #yummy #dinner #lunch
Lunch at Holt Renfrew today. Staff are quick to seat customers at a clean comfortable table with a view of some trees and they pull your chair out for you. Italian coffee and San pelligrino served before a salad of mixed greens, strawberries, candied walnuts, goat cheese and grilled chicken. Flavors are great and salad is presented fabulously. Saskatoon panne cotta for dessert. Texture is perfect and saskatoons are not broken inside. Great friendly service throughout my meal.
Came here for lunch break and decided to try the Holt Renfrew Cafe as I always walk by it while shopping/ browsing at Holt. I was disappointed in the service time, it took awhile for the food to come out but the food overall was not bad. It is on the pricier side and I am hesitant on coming back.
I love coming here for lunch whenever I have a shopping day at Holt’s. Bright and airy, with light and healthy options. This place can get quite busy at lunch on the weekend, especially since the space is tiiiny.
Tucked away on the 2nd floor of Holts, way in the back you will find this cozy cafe. You get a nice window view of Manulife place. Arrived just at 12 and the only thing they had available was their brunch menu. Their water is spiked with lemon, so if you’re not into that you’ll have to ask for plain old water. My girlfriend got a Mimosa (OJ + Champagne) for $11, expensive considering the Champagne was flat. My girlfriend got their Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, actual hollandaise, some potatoes and a salad. Eggs Benedict was nice with the addition of some salt. I opted for their Chorizo Skillet with potato hash and 2 poached eggs. Minus the bits of chorizo, everything was bland as could be. I had to re-season the whole dish myself. Nobody likes eating half cooked bland potato strips. Do chefs/cooks these days under estimate the wonders of salt? A little can go a long way. My eggs were poached beautifully and I got a little side of fresh fruit but it was very unsatisfying. I might come back in the future to try an actual dish and I hope it’s better then the brunch I had.
Lunch is great…. Had the mini elk burger for lunch. It is absolutely decadent. Topped with fois gras it keeps the lean patty juicy and flavorful. It has been far to long between vists, I must come for lunch again soon.
Freaking Good Food. Under new management – the Head Chef makes some of the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted while minding the health and quality of her ingredients. Very original food with flavours that are well-matched. I recommend the Chicken Sandwich (simple yet delicious) and the Lamb Meatballs (savoury sauce) and I could go on.
