I like there menu. They offer a bigger variety compared to other sushi restaurants. Plus they have those small party rooms which are fun for birthdays
Been here a couple times, nothing particularly stood out sushi was good but a tad over priced for the quality. But I have friends that swear by this place and come every week
I paid $13 for noodly beef water. This place is a joke. Overpriced food I could make at home but better. Calamari was decent. Don’t bother, skip.
Been here a few times. Overall food, service, ambience is ok. The items on the menu are overpriced. The presentation of the food was nice but not worth the price.
I’m pretty disappointed with this place. I travelled to Edmonton for a work trip and decided to walk 20 minutes from my hotel to this place. I arrived and asked for a table for one, the hostess said they were full, so I opted for take out. When I placed my order I asked how long it would be if I waited for a table, she said it’s hard to tell because they have reservations. I sat down and waited for my Togo order. Two parties a couple and a party of four walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately by a different hostess. I don’t know if this hostess was discriminating against me personally or if this restaurant has some policy about not seating tables of one. Regardless, I thought it was pretty rude and very inconvenient because a main reason I chose this restaurant is because I wanted to try their dessert. The sushi was okay, nothing special.
We ordered the sashimi martini and tako yaki as appetizers and it was decent. The sauce in the sashimi was sweet and spicy which reminded me a bit of the Korean red sauce. I really enjoy the wide selection of maki dishes they offer. We ordered the tsunami and mango, which was delicious. Plating of the food was also on point. Service could be improved a bit since the server never really checked up on us once. Besides that, everything was good. I liked the wooden dcor and rooms you can choose to eat in. Pricing was also fair and not too expensive. oliveoiloilpaint.com
I came here twice this week and bad service both time. Food are just so so. They didn’t raise the price for a while, but the portion has gone down to half of what they serve before. Rice is very dry like a cheap Chinese restaurant. The cooking skill is not close to any Japanese style.Jan.20,2017I come to Kyoto again and I don’t know why. It’s so closed to my house, so hard for me to avoid this restaurant. The service is as bad as usual. However, they make to a new level of bad service. Do you ever see staff sleeping in the restaurant’s best area when the restaurant is still open? Haha, you will see here.
