Terrible subs at a high cost. I am Vietnamese and after ordering their pate and bbq pork viet subs, I was very dissatisfied. Tastes like crap. Does not taste authentic at all! I am pretty sure I can make better homemade viet subs. I strongly recommend Nhon Hoa (also on White Ave) over this place. Nhon Hoa is cheaper BUT more importantly, tastes 10x better!

Good, but overpriced. The food is pretty tasty, I always get the Vietnamese cold cut or the bbq pork as both are guaranteed to be delicious/standard seeing as none of the meat is actually prepared in house to my knowledge. The bread here is really good, its a basic french baguette but its always fresh and very tasty. The prices are a bit absurd when you think about the fact that 10 blocks away the same sandwiches are being sold for half the price. That said, I live about 100 feet from their front door and I dont drive so the convenience factor often wins out and the quality is good enough that I dont mind. Its better than going to subway, and far more affordable at that. Not the best option by any means for a Vietnamese sub, but if you’re in the area you can do a lot worse, and at the price point you’d be hard pressed to do better on or near rice howard way.
This place is fantastic when you want a fresh, light lunch. Service is excellent and they make their sandwiches with care.
Decent, but slow and overpriced.. just because of the location?. I do agree with alot of the other reviews. The bread is delicious, yet it takes them 10 -15 minutes to make one sub and one ice coffee, which will end up hurting them, even though their quality is good. Speaking from someone who grew up eating traditional vietnamese food, the prices here are somewhat high for quality that is equal to what I can get somewhere else. It’s good to know that there is somewhere on Whyte ave that I can go when I get a craving for banh mi, but I would rather waste the extra 50 cents in gas to go to Chinatown and get something there. Overall, I applaud them for trying, but I don’t think I can say I’m fully won-over.
Great food but the wait is wayyy too long. Their sandwiches are one of the best and I know many good Vietnamese sandwiches places in Edmonton & Calgary. However, everytime I waited patiently to get my hand what I ordered, I kept wondering what could possibly take them that long ? Like 10+ minute for an order of either 1 or 2 sandwiches, same time for the bean desert which I thought everything must be premade and you just scoop them into a glass, 3 minutes top !Most of the food vendres downtown Edmonton (and anywhere) make their sale during lunch time, which is 60-90 min max. If they’re that slow, how can they make enough sales in such a small window to swing their operation to a profit ??? If I’m their owner, I should be very concern.
Sate Beef, you disappoint. Try harder next time.. This is not a matter of paying $6 for a viet sub in downtown because things are supposed to be jacked up here. I am not even going to begin comparing to some of the Chinatown joints for viet subs. But… having tough and warm beef in a sate sub is inexcusable. I would begin to bite on a piece of beef and it would be so tough and overcooked that I had to swallow a string of beef and I would try ever so hard to dissect it in my mouth but I would end in defeat – swallowing in whole. Come here if you want indigestion. The $4 iced coffee was OK but I felt like I was eating at the Fringe or something… overpriced and full of ice. The one good thing I have to say about this place though, is the freshly baked baguette bun, but, why don’t I just go to Cobs bread or something?
