First time at below deck was wing night this past week…drinks are bad (if you’re not getting beer). Wings were not great…not even worth 19 cents, I’d say 5 cents! SERVICE WAS THE WORST. Our server barely came to our table, when she did she forgot our orders, took forever to get the bill, and she was rude! I would never go back!
Awesome little place downstairs off Stephen ave. went there on wing night was bit of a wait for a table. Very unique flavours of wings. Yummy but had a weird oily after taste. Service was decent.

Worst server.. I usually never write reviews as I have been in the hospitality industry for 18 years and think every body had bad days. But out server was full of attitude from time we enter the bar. When we went for a smoked she accused us of trying to drink and dash reminding me that she would have to pay for bill. She snapped at me when I explained my jacket was still there. When we went to go pay the bill the credit card machine was not working and I was told to sign a sketchy piece of paper . She snapped at me again about not throwing the pen my buddies we’re with me and can back me up about get attitude. Regardless of this I left her a tip of more the 20%.
Worst pint I’ve had in downtown Calgary. I went there today and ordered a Big Rock Grasshopper, the pint I got didn’t taste like Grasshopper so I kindly asked for a new one, which I’ve never done before, the second one I got tasted pretty much the same like it was 60% pool water. I actually couldn’t finish my pint which again is extremely unusual for me. I’ve gone there before many times and this is fist time I had a problem.
I came here for the Alpine. I am a Maritimer living in Calgary so I dragged my gf here after I found out they serve Alpine beer which is brewed in my home town of Saint John NB. Just to let people who go there know maritime bars do not have buoys and fishing nets in there pubs lol. They have a good selection of beer and the food is good had the maritime mussels, great broth, and the donair poutine. The mussels where well cooked and broth was amazing the donair meat on the poutine was not great but fries where good and gravy was decent but the Alpine was delicious. Had a great time and will definitely come back again.PS If the owners read this want a real east coast dish put fried boloney aka Newfie steak
Not a bad spot for east coast appies!. Went last night with my husband for a bite and a beer before the hockey game. Tried the fried pepperoni, mussels and garlic fingers. All of it was well done and easily the best donair/sweet sauce in the city!Had 10 cent wings last time i went with a friend and they were pretty good too!
