This property has become complacent to the extent of the waitress not giving two shits about customer’s ignorance regarding their menus, and returning snide shrugs for suggestions kindly asked. I do not blame them, as they already have an incestious customer base: they clearly are not looking for fresh lungs. The sheeshah/hookah itself was a saving grace, of sorts, where it’s smoothness showed up towards the end of the flavor’s life. Their assortment of tea is just a shelf that one would find in their local safeway or co-op – absolutely inexotic, expensive water with a flavour that doesnt take you anywhere, let alone have a nostalgic moment of the classic teas of the middle east. Overall, this review will not change a thing cause as i said, they have a faithful customer base who will show up at -25degC. Good for them.
The food was reasonably tasty and our servers were decent, but those the only redeeming qualities for this place. The table we were sitting at was quite unsteady and resulted in our hookah tipping over, spilling ashes everywhere, including onto the laps of people. Luckily no one was hurt, but the owners should really look into this for the safety of future patrons. When we went up to pay, they also tacked on a service fee, a fact that they try to hide as they simply state the balance you owe and don’t provide a receipt breakdown of your bill unless you explicitly ask. This along with the fact that they close their card machines to force you to use the ATM machines with a $3 charge, and that they charge $4 for a bottle of water gives off the impressions that the owner is trying to wring you dry of every last dollar.
Shit service…I am for the reviewer who said that money is all they care about. I went there because there was an overabundance of the reviews of great pizza here. The atmosphere and the waitress at this place was HORRIBLE, though. It’s a hooka bar, and I was surprised how uncirculated the smoke was in this space. When I mentioned how much stagnant air was in the wait area to the waitress, she gave me a snobby look and didn’t comment. This place has potential, but jeeze! Why were they so rude from this comment? From the waitress’ reaction, I would never visit this place again. I teach high school and I wasn’t going to lower myself to the attitude they possessed. I apologize if I was rude about the whole incident, but I could have seriously gotten high off the second hand smoke. Almost every single person had their own hooka pipe and it was packed!! I like a good smoke, but this was too much. It didn’t help that the staff was cocky when I simple joked the smoke gave me a contact high.Spend your money somewhere else to save your dignity and health! You can have fun smoking with good food but why risk it when the staff doesn’t give two shits about your lungs. Seriously. Spend your money somewhere else.
Cafe med was always a regular destination for me but however lately I have found the quality to be going down. The sheesha doesn’t smoke as well and tastes burnt quite quickly. The food is still pretty good for a sheesha bar. Service is hit or miss. Overall a nice place to drop by once in a while with friends for sheesha and pizza. I also don’t appreciate being forced into buying bottled water only because they refuse to provide tap water. It just goes to show their approach is just to gouge customers for every last dollar.
Been coming here since I was in university and this past year it went down hill really quickly. The owners seem to just be trying to get every penny they can out of you these days. Now they only serve you $4 bottles of water, mandatory service charge on all bills and they turn off the debit machines so you are forced to use their Atm with their $3 service charge. The service is also pretty bad unless you know somebody who is working. The food and sheesha is still awesome though …. Honestly used to go at least twice a week, haven’t been back in a month though. Go check it though if it’s only to try their amazing pizza
I can’t believe they haven’t shut down yet wow – my friends and I waited for our tobacco hookah for over 45 mins and the servers just stared at us with their lazy eyes – not recommending this place to anyone!
