Try the soups,prepared in the back and fresh, the broth is nevertoo salty, fatty or full of cabbage. The cook also waitsuntil after 11 to put the food out. Themeat dishesdon’t taste like they were drowned in in batter and deep fried for the masses, it actually tasteslike restaurant food.
Came here for lunch and had combo 3. The signs above the counter look kind of tattered and gross, but the food was actually really good.We had the Shanghai noodles, the BBQ pork and the vegetables.The noodles were really nice and chewy, and absolutely drenched in sauce. Careful you don’t spatter yourself in sauce when you’re eating it; I narrowly avoided disaster myself.The pork looked like it would be dry but was actually surprisingly tender and flavourful, and it went really well with the chilli sauce on offer at the check out.The noodles made this quite a heavy lunch for one, but sharing between 2 was actually really good. It kept me going for the rest of the afternoon. Also if you’re looking for a restaurant with a short line in bow valley square… It’s this one. I’m fairly sure the faded pictures are hugely off putting for most people.. But now you know better 😉 eliteyyc.com
