Great restaurant on Stephen Ave that is not over priced! They have a lunch special similar to Charcut called One Punch Lunch where it comes with the daily feature, a soup or chips, 2 mini butter tarts, and a coffee or a mocktail for $16. When we ordered around 12:15pm during lunch, there was only one left.. which is odd to me that youre going to have lunch feature but sell out within the first 15 minutes, and it wasnt that busy yet either…that was the only downside. One of us got the special and really liked the smoked duck sandwich. The duck was still moist even though it had been shredded. I got the mushroom ravioli which was really tasty, and our third got the fish sandwich which was recommended by the server. Food and atmosphere was great, the server was friendly but at times was a bit hard to get a hold of, and forgot to bring our drink, but I think he may have been new. Even with that he made some good suggestions with food and dessert and we still enjoyed our experience.
Really great ambience and food! I always get the mushroom ravioli and the duck breast when I come and it never fails to impress me! The later of duck hash beneath the duck is indescribable good. Service is usually really great although last night it was maybe a bit too attentive and forced for my liking. Kudos to her for being able to check on us every five-ten minutes though!
I was here for dinner on a Saturday evening and the service was pretty slow, even when the restaurant wasn’t full. It took 45 mins to get our food from the time we ordered. The music was also too loud and we couldn’t hear our conversations, and the waitress couldn’t hear us either. Ventilation also wasn’t very good. We smelled like oil when we left. Food was alright, but not exceptional.
Great cocktails. Would love to come back and enjoy the lounge seating. Watching the chefs prepare our meal from the bar was fun though. The food was excellent- especially the best salad.
First time spontaneously came here during lunch and got Living Room area due the tables are all booked. Great atmosphere and really homey.Pertaining the food, I ordered a Beef Sausage + Bell Pepper with Jalapeo cornbread. The food is an appetizer but quite big so it could be an entree. The Cornbread is the highlight, in a shape of a muffin. The Jalapeo taste is not too strong with a hint of Garlic, perfect for the heavy-spice Asian tounge like me. The Sausage was okay, somehow it got overwhelmed by the taste of onions and bell pepper so I suggest to eat it separately. The service is excellent. Our server knows the menu well and the recommendation is on point. Will definitely visit again when I am in Calgary.
One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Calgary. Food is always phenomenal – if you havent been, youre seriously missing out! Its all Canadian ingredients, neat flavour combos, & great value in a romantic, yet relaxed atmosphere. (5/5)
Excellent food and service. The food has a Canadian theme and all the dishes we tried were very well executed with great contrasting and complimentary flavours. There was a couple of small mix ups but they were handled well and we all left very satisfied. I will definitely be back.
