Absolutely love this place. Brilliant sushi and sashimi. Good customer service. We went there using the Groupon and its pretty affordable with it. Without it, it’s a bit pricy.
Buy a Groupon if you decide to dine here. Otherwise, I don’t feel the rolls and sushi are worth the price. The korean style sashimi with avocado is one of my favorites. You can pick tuna or salmon and the cut is really nice. The squid legs here are also ok and I love their citrus sauce that goes with it. Red tuna was out the night we went. The inside of the rolls are pretty basic. Mainly just tempura with a little bit of tobiko or that of a california roll. Service can definitely be better.
I’m a guy who likes my deals so seeing a Groupon for Koto was a bonus. They seem to offer groupons every periodically which provide a slight discount on your meal (so look on Groupon before you go). The service is good here and the servers will periodically check up on you. However my dislike was the nigri sushi because the rice was too hard. Man I’m not a kid anymore where I can tolerate eating rock hard nerds haha. My second disappointment was they ran out of Toro and red tuna. Oh well!
Food was bad and servers expected us to give 15-20% tip when they barely gave any service. I wouldn’t recommend this place even if you have Groupon
Nice atmosphere, good service, food presentation was beautiful but would not recommend the food! The sushi is not fresh, cooked meats were not flavorful, even a simple miso soup was bland. Looking at the prices…I would not pay that $ for the quality. Good thing we had a Groupon!
We came here with the Groupon deal, as I suppose a majority of their customers do since offering. I’ve bought the Groupon here five times since June 2016. It started out great, but each visit has declined from the last. This was my final visit…here’s why:1) They jacked up their prices (to offset all the Groupon ‘deals’). For $50 we used to get the 10 oz steak and veggies ($25) and the sushimi platter ($25). This last visit the steak was $26 (fine, I can deal w that), but the sushimi platter was bumped up to $33 (that’s a 32% increase in price!)2) The food quality is on serious decline. The first time(s) there, our sushimi would be brought out cold to the touch, very chilled. It was great! However, over the last three visits, our sushimi would come out at room temperature. I somewhat expect at an ‘all you can eat’ spot, but not a restaurant like this. As anyone knows, you can expect a gradual decline in quality any time a restaurant pairs with Groupon until they finally hit bottom. Koto has hit it. The cost cutting, margin squeezing, and menu price increase has cut into quality and turned this ‘deal’ into an easy PASS (unless you’re in the market for mediocre rolls).
The place is very nice. Awesome restaurant to get your sushi fix! Although lately the portuons are getting smaller and smaller and prices are hiking up. Service is a hit and miss. Moody servers I guess.
