from my understanding, ownership of this Marcello’s has changed in the last year. I’ve heard from colleagues that this location was a sure way to get food poisoning a year ago. THIS IS NOT THE CASE ANYMORE. It has new owners – a family who shares a number of the Marcello locations.I do believe its still a little stigmatized because its always empty, butI’m here almost daily for breakfast and every so often for lunchand trust me,the food is delicious. The service can sometimes be a little slow because they only have the one small cooking station for eggs (if you’re looking for a breakfast sandwich instead of their buffet) but most days it goes fast. The best part – you can get almostanything your little taste buds desire as they are great with customization. I really love the endless options for both breakfast and lunch.They have fresh fruit, yogurt, yogurt parfaits, sandwiches, wraps, hot meals, salads, salad buffets,hot buffets, breakfast buffets, assorted protein bars/ health food bars, pressed juices, pop’s, flavored waters/soda waters. Honestly, almosteverything!much better than silly old Tim Horton’s, so if you’re hesitant because of past rumors… go on in and give it a whirl. You wont regret it 🙂

Be extremely careful with what you eat at Marcello’s I know of four work colleagues and two family friends who all within the year have gotten awful food poisoning from chicken dishes on the Buffett. It’s happened so frequent at my work anyone who is seen bringing Marcello’s back from lunch is deemed as crazy and warned off by half the office. If you have the time go to Olly Frescos at Bow Valley Square.
Was craving chilli… worlds worst chilli. So sour. Wendy’s has a better chilli.
Horrible horrible!! I’ve recently changed jobs and was excited to see that yet again i would be working by a Marcellos unfortunately that excitment died after a couple of attempts. The food is blah, nothing exciting and limited selection of food, most of the items are the same on a daily basis. Staff is also not very courteous, tried asking a question from the lady at the cash register and got no response. I tried again thinking maybe she didnt hear me, once again got no response… Very rude.
Buffet is good, but be careful of line jumpers. If you want to use the Buffet, make sure you stand in line like a civilized person. The line starts at the fruit, then goes away from the fruit. If you come in from the other side of the buffet, you are just being an inconsiderate jerk.Eric was there earlier, and some old dirtbag entered the buffet from the wrong side…then had the nerve to give Eric a dirty look. I think this POS better stick with Golden Corral, or the Pizza Hut lunch buffet, and leave the real buffets to decent human beings.
The Marcello’s in AMEC Place is incredible and so are all of their staff! I’m so happy to finally have a good lunch option around my workplace! I eat there almost everyday and I’ve never been disappointed. The selection is great and everything is always so fresh. I’ve been to one of the other Marcello’s.. I think it was in Canterra Tower and I wasn’t too impressed. You can really see that Marcello’s AMEC takes a lot more time in the flavor and presentation of their items.
