The macaroons do not taste fresh and light. They are far too dense and way too sweet. A lot of reviews say that they are frozen, and you can definitely tell. Pistachio is usually my favourite but their version just tasted like sugar. Honestly I would’ve been happier getting a donut next door from Tim Hortons (for a fraction of the price!)

Dislike. I love macarons, but I really can’t say these are good for anything else other than gifts. Maybe not for the closest friend. These are way too sweet for my taste, and they were carelessly packaged in a cheap plastic bag. They were soon crushed in my bag. It was quite obvious enough that I was going to take them on the go, and they had plastic boxes for them. At over $2 a pop, these are not worth your time.

Very nice staff and a decent selection of macaron flavours. I was surprised that I liked the honey lavender flavour so much! My only tiff is that the macarons are quite expensive given their size, so I would only get these as a special treat.

pleasantly surprised! i’d originally bought some macarons from here as part of a gift for someone, but they let me try some as well, haha.to start off, their macarons are definitely a bit bigger than i’ve seen in most other places. like others have said below, they’re a bit too sweet for my palate personally, but if it’s what you’re a fan of, than this is perfect. they have a pretty sizeable variety to choose from (with several seasonal flavours), though as also mentioned previously, some of the flavours tend to blend together/taste indistinct. i’ve noticed this tends be the case with any of their brown colored macarons, mainly. otherwise, the service is friendly, the location is convenient (it’s in the core’s food court on fourth floor), and the macarons themselves are quite good! make sure to wait just a bit before eating, as they really are cooled.

Monplaisir is a sweets destination located in the Core, that offers a variety of chocolates and macarons. Being a big fan of the tasty French treats, I ordered a few macarons to see how they held up against some of the other local competition. I found each of the macarons to have a strong flavour, and enjoyed the soft consistency of the centre, combined with a nice textural crunch of the macaron shell. I thought Monplaisir did a great job in balancing out the flavour of the macaron, and can see myself coming back to try their other flavours. One drawback was that at $2.50 each, the macarons are definitely one of the priciest ones in the city, and would need a bit more impact to justify the price difference.

This place is okay. In my opinion, the macarons are a tad too sweet for my liking, thus I haven’t found macaron heaven yet. It’s not bad either, but at $2.50 a macaron I expect a bit more. They have about 15 flavors, the one that I like the most would have to be pistachio. I like it because of the slight bitter taste that the crumbs give, and paired with the sweetness of the macaron filling, it is a good match. Green tea is very sweet with a slight hit of green tea at the end.

If you love frozen Macarons this is the place to be! I bought a dozen and the ladies selling it told me to wait 10 minutes to wait for it to ‘cool down’ from the fridge . After 10 minutes, the macaron was still cold and hard. Don’t waste your money here.
