It’s okay but not much choices….
Death by chocolate? More like death by disappointment. A friend and I came for the dessert buffet and were sad to see that there weren’t as many choices as we thought. In addition, the workers/servers taking care of the buffet table were constantly giving us dirty looks and watched us each time we went up to the dessert table. Not worth it.
What a disapointment. Spent $138 for mediocre food tried the scallops $16 for 2 scallops good but basic. Peach kale salad $12 alright needed more seasoning. But the steak tartar $17 was amazing, first time ever having it, but it was the best part of the whole meal. I had the 10 ounce porter steak for an entre, $42 it had gravy on it with a chimichuri could not taste either sauce both where bland but the steak was cooked perfectly. My gf had the pickerel $38 was pretty good but had better pickerel for half the price. This restaurant is such a waste of money food was average with an expensive cost.
Death by Chocolate ! There are about 15 different types of chocolate cake/tart plus chocolate fountain and fruit platter ! Those cake n tart absolutely exquisite ! But there is no surprised , lack of creative , choices and tasted too sweet! Dark chocolate seems not on the list ! Although it wasn’t impressed me , but it was a good dating place ! No matter what girls love desserts n chocolate !
$30 is too expensive for breakfast buffet. There’s was nothing particularly wrong with the food, but it’s not worth the whopping $30. Nothing was amazing. The scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon were all standard. They tried to fancy it up with eggs Benedict, but it was a little soggy and mediocre. If they added a omelette or crepe station, it would be better. All of the pastries with the continental breakfast are fantastic. Like $2 fantastic.
Mediocre. It was my first time dining at the Rimrock Room and I think I might have expected more because it was the Fairmont Palliser, but it wasn’t anything amazing. I went with a couple of girlfriends to try their death by chocolate experience. We started off the night well with our server asking to take our coats promptly after leading us to our table. And then everything sort of just went downhill after that. 1) Our wine glasses were not taken away after having decided that none of us wanted wine. 2) Our bread was not warmed up before being brought to our table. 3) We were not asked if we wanted coffee or tea after we had finished our didinner and was set for the chocolate buffet. 4) After we paid our bill, the server did not come back with our jackets so we had to go fetch our own jackets. And in regards to the death by chocolate experience, it wasn’t anything special to me. It was just a lot of chocolate which lacked quality. It reminded me of what I could have found on the buffet floor of a cruise, and we all know that cruises are all about quantity over quality. Overall I wouldn’t say that the service was bad, but it was definitely not good or what I would consider on par with Fairmont Palliser. The dinner was good but nothing amazingly good that I couldn’t find elsewhere. The death by chocolate buffet is good to try once to say that I’ve tried it but nothing that I’d crave to go back to again. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. eatlaughandrepeat.blogspot.com
High Tea. This was my first experience with high tea in Canada and it was fantastic. The waitress was really nice and the selection of sandwiches, scones etc was perfect. The scones were nice and fresh and just the right amount to continue with the sandwiches and dessert. Would definitely come back here for a treat. The whole experience was a nice step back. The devonshire cream – yummy!
