I honestly am baffled by the popularity of this place. We have been several times and are not impressed. Yes, the meat is fine, but the vegetables are so clearly an afterthought they are not worth the cost. The staff is also okay, but very stiff and we got the impression that they had been told to be serious at all costs. We will not go back – there are many other great places to eat in Calgary. I’m sorry if this is not a positive review.
Excellent experience overall. Steak was cooked PERFECTLY and came out hot. The sides were equally impressive. I liked how attentive the servers were as well. The dessert was a rich chocolate cake with fresh berries. Overall a beautiful experience.
Excellent quality meat and perfect sides for a steakhouse. Definitely on the pricey side and in my opinion it’s more expensive than it is worth. I went at a slower time (430 pm I think), and surprisingly the service was inconsistent. The wait staff was initially very attentive (almost too much so) and asking if I was prepared to order every few minutes but then when I needed things like water top-up’s after my meal came I couldn’t get their attention. I will definitely be back but it will be a special occasion to justify the cost.

In comparison to the Ruths in Toronto and Mississauga, this location completely misses the mark!!! Youd think after coming here 3+ times it would be a better dining experience! It is not!!! How they stay busy is beyond me. Service is not great. Food is really of poor quality for almost fine dining. Their mashed potatoes taste like baby pure. Salads come out soggy. Am I missing something here??? The only thing that stands out is the ambience, hostess, and decor.
Great steakhouse with a really nice setting. Located inside the Calgary Tower. I went with my husband and friend for lunch and brought along our 2 month old son. They were very accommodating and gave us a table close to the washrooms as requested. I had the French onion soup and the chopped salad which had very nice presentation, but frankly for the price, could have been better and more substantial, the soup was fine. My mistake though for ordering a salad at a steakhouse! I have had their steaks in the past which are wonderful. The service is great. Will definitely be back for steak 😉
For many years I avoided the local Ruth Chris preferring some of the more established steakhouses. When visiting the US I often visited and was rarely disappointed.Now, six dinner visits later, it is established as an excellent location for family dinners. I prefer not to ‘muddy the waters’ on how their seafood or chicken dishes are. If you want something other than steak and chops then there are at least 10 places off the top of my head your should prefer to go to. Bottom line, great steaks, VG side orders, ambience and service.
