In my continuing exploration of options for lunch downtown I stopped in to the SAIT Culinary Campus by accident. I went to the saute station since what had lured me in was the option of gnocchi with bolognese sauce. I have several things that I test eateries with if they are on the menu and gnocchi is one of them as well as being one of my favorite pastas.The moment of truth. As I put the first forkful in my mouth I was delighted to discover the most tender gnocchi I have had anywhere including in some very fancy Italian restaurants. The were pillowy soft and with the bolognese, which was made with Italian sausage in the mix, a delightful mouthful. The bolognese gave a nice bit of texture as well as the taste and the ricotti was a silky, cheesy melting into the whole.I will definitely be back as there are so many other choices and the menu changes daily. Great concept to support SAIT students’ accomplishments. I stop by the store regularly to pick up bread and pastries. The best chocolate croissants in town crispy and flaky. Remind me of Paris. Also the lunch selections and sandwiches are great, definitely fresh and tasty. Fantastic food presentation and decor. I wish they have siting section so you can enjoy the food right on the spot.
