One of the original Vietnamese restaurants, Viet Nam continues to be a great place for lunch. Met a friend and we enjoyed pleasant, efficient service and good food. My satay beef soup was served hot and tasty. My friend obviously liked her bun dish as it disappeared quickly. Many thanks team Viet Nam.
Aged, crappy service & food. I used to go here years ago while living downtown and thought to go for dinner there for old times sake. Well it was EXACTLY the same as the late 90’s. Nothing had changed except that it was all worn down and dirty, especially the floors. There was 1 other customer and it took 15 minutes for the waiter to take our order. He was sitting 4 tables away rolling spring rolls ( bare hands, no gloves , and we never saw him wash his hands). Then when we ordered, the BBQ pork (really it was grilled pork but the menu says BBQ ), was so dried out and burnt it was gross. The noodles were over cooked and a big glob, and there were 3 tiny bits of carrots curly cut. The spring rolls were $7 and they were 4 of the thinnest I have ever had , total rip off. And there was no music , which meant it was quiet as a library, very creepy because everyone can listen in on our conversation.
Always great. As a Vietnamese person myself, it’s so great to dine here and get a reminder of my family’s authentic cooking. My go to items are the dumplings, spring rolls, pork and rice, chicken sate and the beef ball soup. The portions are quite generous and the food is consistently delicious. The pricing is standard, I wouldn’t say that it is on the expensive end at all. The owners are so kind and welcoming. The service is quick and it’s somewhere we frequent weekly. I have nothing bad to say about the restaurant or its owners and definitely recommend this place who love Vietnamese cuisine.
