Came here late one night for food. It was on a Saturday night so there was a live band. They were pretty good and got everyone up dancing, so it had a good vibe to it. The interior is nice and open. Ordered a Caesar to drink and it was very tasty, was thicker and not watery like some other Caesars. Boyfriend ordered the Louisiana chicken club. He said it was good. I ordered the fried shrimp po boy. The shrimp was delicious and so were all the toppings on the sandwich. Its probably me being finicky but I wish the sandwich was on a sub type bun, since I think that would better hold the shrimps in, since they kept falling out of the burger bun. I will definitely be back.
My favourite restaurant in Calgary! I live close so the $29.95 – 2 meat choice & 2 side choice menu option is perfect for my wife & I as an easy take out option. Where else can you get a half rack of smoked ribs, chicken wings, caesar salad, & fries for that price & it being delicious? The corn bread is yummy as well. Staff are always friendly & accommodating. Five dollar wing Wednesdays are awesome for smoked chicken wings. I’ve been here several times & have never been disappointed.
If I was rating just the appetizers, this place would get 5 stars!! Between the creamy Mack and cheese, yam fries, chill or jambalaya it hits on every point. However there are a few things I find less intriguing. Firstly, I have never enjoyed the service, the staff seem rushed and generally unhappy. Secondly I have never had any ribs or crabs that truly lived up to any expectation with a place that calls it self a BBQ AND CRAB SHACK I mean, they dont even have garlic with the butter served on the side of there crab legs To sum up, if your want a quick drink and appetizers, this place works, just dont stay for any entrees!
I love this place! Very cool spot to score all you can eat crab on Sundays and Saturdays there’s live music. I love the whole look and feel of this restaurant with the exposed historical brick to the very impressive bar to the ultra friendly staff. You can’t go wrong!!
My girlfriend got a quarter smokehouse chicken and I was extremely surprised at how small the portion was. It was literally one drumstick and upper drum, with 2 basic sides totalling $16. That’s ridiculous pricing to me. I got the smokehouse brisket ($20) and it was satisfactory. Nothing too special in my books and the price point isn’t that amazing. I had contemplated going somewhere else to get food. Thankfully, the servers were great and actually worked hard – we had 15 people. Other than that, unless you get something on special or ribs, it’s not worth your time. The location is okay, and atmosphere is not bad. I just thought the portions left a lot to be desired.
Phenomenal food and lively environment during stampede weekend! Live music, beer, and bbq! Highly recommend! We are returning to YYC this weekend and are planning to dine here again. Can’t wait.
