Staff is friendly let’s start with that walked in instant help and suggestions, as I was sitting there the older gentleman that I assume is the owner or manager was letting people try the cakes and so on he’s just very friendly. My meal was the meatball sandwich and house salad which were both great! I’ll for sure come back here very much liked the atmosphere.
I like what they’ve done here, open a cool dessert place in the area that sorely needs it. Come on, why go to sugary Tim Hortons when you can eat quality baked goods? For those who just want sugar bombs, then this is probably not your place. But for those with a little more refined palettes, I would say give this a try and your diabetes will be kept in check.
The cake here is soo good. I specially love the Mango Mousse and well the Panna Cotta. They recently made changes and renovated the place so it’s more stylish than before but still have that homey feel. The staff is friendly too, well the ones that helped us. Just need a lil more training tho. But all in all people should check it out.
The cakes served here are quite unique. As mentioned below, they are a chinese bakery with french influence. I had the sponge cake which I found good, but a lot heavier than expected. The green tea mousse was good – not too sweet, but good flavour. I recommend popping by and checking it out and making your own conclusions.
A Wish is a Chinese bakery/cafe with an obvious French influence over the items that it offers. Stepping inside, I was surprised to see that it was more spacious than the outside would suggest, with both bar tables and a full seating area available. I decided to try the Mango Swiss slice and the rose solo tea (half sweet). The cake itself was pleasantly supple, and moist with hints of mango flavouring that was not too overpowering. The rose solo tea was refreshing, and I could definitely taste the different tones of the tea that was used. I also had a taste of the matcha latte, and was left feeling a little mixed about it, due to the fact that I could still feel the texture of the matcha powder which wasn’t mixed completely into the drink. A piece of feedback for this may be to use hotter milk to mix the powder before serving. Overall, I found it to be a positive experience, and a nice option for grabbing something on the go, or taking that afternoon coffee break.
Pricey. The foods are pricey and the cakes are left over.
What you see is NOT what you get…very deceiving…. I have 2 pet peeves about this place:1) the bubble teas are overpriced compared to what you actually get2) when ordering off the menu from the pictures, it’s NOT what you get. I found this very deceiving. The pictures show bubbles, red bean, ice cream and/or freshfruit chunks…but when you order you have to pay extra for the bubbles, red bean, (or anything else for that matter) and the ice cream and fresh fruit chunks they say is blended in the drink (which btw is very watered down). So basically you’re paying over $6 for a watery drink with ice. Anything extra costs extra even though in the pictures it looks so enticing.Never going back.
