Nothing wrong with the poutine per se. For a place that specializes in poutine it's kind of eh. The cheese curds weren't squeaky and weren't gooey. Th…

So hard to decide what to order when there are so many unique items that force your mouth to water. Ended up ordering the hogzilla poutine with a side of pickled eggs and pickles. The poutine is super filling for a reasonable price. The pulled pork was super tender, and the bacon was obviously the perfect addition! I love the casual atmosphere of the place; great for meeting up with friends, family, or even a date. Definitely put this on your list of places to eat in Calgary!
I have been to this location once and the service and food quality were horrible, not even worth the visit. Took forever to get our order to get a pile of soggy fries and told it was the gravy that made it soggy and it was supposed to be like that. Just disgusting. I will be sticking with the 17th Ave location. Never again
if I could give zero stars I would. This review is based solely on customer service & honesty of the company. We gifted a groupon to my parents (2 senior citizens) & the manager would not honour their valid groupon- after some debate & unnecessary humiliation to the customers they were turned away. Please save your money & do not buy a groupon for this venue.
Everytime I go there I regret it. Maybe I hope it will improve or maybe I forget my previous disappointment. I have high hopes each time. On paper it sounds great but it just doesn’t deliver a good poutine
We decided to try this place for the first time last night, and we were very pleased. Service was very friendly and the cashier helped us pick a good poutine from the large selection. The place is small but it’s cute and retro themed. Ordered the Taco Luchador and it was great…the sour cream, guacamole, cheese, etc. but next time ill order a small not large because it was way too much! Will be back again to try other poutines!
Been here before with a buddy, chef was throwing fries in his mouth while cooking. And the cashier was obviously high. Couldn’t even look at us normally when we were placing the order and she couldn’t even talk properly…. not coming back
There a little problem with Big Cheese and I don’t know how to put my finger on it. It’s like they try too hard, but don’t do well even with it all. Their poutines aren’t terrible, but they aren’t good either.Fries both times I went are barely cooked. They aren’t very crispy for how small they are cut and they always have skins on (minor complaint) and on their fries, it just doesn’t work.Poutines themselves they have a really diverse selection, but are super mediocre in execution. Most of the stuff is pre-cooked (or seems like it) and is not very crunchy or sharp in taste. Gravy is meh… at best. They don’t really stand out as a good gravy.Sizes, smalls are never worth it, bigs are a good deal. Myself I can only eat a small so I don’t care, but the small just costs a tad too much.I’ve been twice, I tried their philly cheesesteak and dessert poutine. Friend had Bombay and buffalo chicken. We aren’t super impressed either time. Won’t be returning at all. For similar prices I can get way better poutines…
