Nice deco, good service! Beef tartare was good, personally I think to add a bit of lemon taste would be even nicer. Risotto is tasty, but strictly, as…

I love this place and have gone a few times now. I love restaurants with an open kitchen because I think it really sets the ambience. It has the added benefit of transparency. I have had many dishes here and each one has been very high quality and particularly flavorful. It is a great date night location but be sure to make a reservation.
Had lunch at Cucina yesterday and ordered the saltimbocca – full size $24. It came with 5 shells stuffed with braised short ribs and a piece of crispy porchetta on top. The food was good but a bit pricey. I was full after the dish but if you have a bigger appetite, you will probably need an appt to start or else a snack in a few hours.
I loved coming here! It really small inside but it wasn’t busy surprisingly, maybe because of stampede. It has a really cute interior going on in black and white. Their portion sizes are actually a really good size, I got a half size in both the market soup and the pasta. And I was already filled up after the soup — which was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. It was a leek corn soup with spicy sausages. It was both flavourful but not overwhelming. Their pasta wasn’t too bad, I liked the Risotto that my friend got.
Great food and service. We went with my friend for lunch, both had pasta and was absolutely delicious! our waitress was very attentive and warm. Their coffee is also amazing!
After hearing really good things about his place, i finally got the chance to take the plunge and give it a try. Ordered the Mussels and they were bland. Tried 2 kinds of pasta, and they were both good, but nothing to really rave about. Also tried the scallop appy which was surprisingly very small. Cucina is a small cute place, i would come back and give it another try…
Calamari was delicious! And bread basket. Friend had kale salad and had to ask for a vegetarian entree pasta to be made but they complied. He really liked that pasta. I tried the pappardelle alla bolognese with beef ragu. I found it a bit too salty but otherwise good. Full portions are large! Customer service was ok. I think they are trying to change their approach based on some negative reviews online. A pricier place like this definitely is affected by negative reviews. The place is too cramped. The waitress/waiters slide between tables and their hair almost gets in your food. . And just to get to the washroom you feel you need to say excuse me to the tables by there because if they are leaning back in chairs you will bump into them to get by. It was busy but no one checked in to see how food was. Tried to get attention of other staff to get pepper and for a bag for to go items and did eventually get it. Even though I gave a full 15% tip the waitress seemed disappointed. Not sure why. Also note that the menu has changed a bit from what is posted on their website. There are even less vegetarian entree options.
We used a Groupon for dinner and was really impressed with the food and service. We decided on a half size carbonara to share, the pasta was cooked perfectly and it was creamy without being oily. I find some carbonara have a layer of grease from the meat. I ordered the porchetta and R ordered the tuna. The pork was very tender and seasoned well, accompanied with zucchini, broccoli and potatoes. R’s tuna came with kale and a sweet potato hash. We ended with the tiramisu which was delicious. We will definitely be back!
