The new Californian panini was phenomenal !!! Especially with a little hot sauce on it. The beet chips were so tasty too. The outdoor seating is lovely for a warm day. We will be back !
A staple in Calgary for paninis burgers fries and chips. They haven’t changed the menu from what I could tell in maybe 10 years so don’t expect anything new. Everything is priced well. Had the burger with avocado and blue cheese it was great although the buns been to be better they fall apart easily. The fries were excellent and large for $4. Quick and the patio is nice too.
Glad to be back in Calgary where a person can get really good breakfast out. My wife and I tried the Holy Grill this morning and were very impressed. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly face who handed us menus and quickly explained how they operated. Seat yourself, take a look at the menu, when you are ready come to the front to order and pay. When the food is ready they buzz you… coffee is self serve and very tasty. We decided to sit outside on the sun drenched patio and ordered eggs Benedict (of course). Mine had avocado and sprouts while my wife chose the traditional version. Both were really good. I definitely recommend the Holy Grill. It is a stand out in a city that offers many excellent choices for breakfast.
I’ve been here before on prior trips and returned this morning for breakfast. It’s a small local place a few blocks from the Sandman Hotel. It’s primarily counter service/self-serve with an eclectic kind of feel. The menu is limited to some degree and you better like your carbs – lots of bread and potatoes included – but the service is quick and breakfast is diner style top shelf. I’d prefer to see some lighter options, but it is quite good. It’s a little on the expensive side – $17 tip in for eggs and coffee – but the portions are large and the quality is good. It’s worth a visit.
Holy Grill has the smallest kitchen that is delivering top quality and extra tasty eats on a daily basis. You can either pick up or dine in. The casual and welcoming environment is what sends this rating over the top. You are greeted with a smile and hello by pretty much everyone there including the Chef(s). When you walk in highly recommend staking out your preference of seating first inside or out. The patio gets great sunshine! Once you decide head on up the front kitchen/bar area to place your order and pay. Water, condiments, cutlery and drinks there for you to grab on your way back to the table. Now the food, incredible. So many options breakfast or lunch, from eggs benny to a panini. Everything is fresh, great portions, so tasty and not greasy. The prices are on point. I also highly recommend checking out Holy Grills app to download on your phone! Such a cool feature for a place to have! This is a must try and try again!! @HolyGrill
Holygrill, one of the places where I really enjoyed eating a burger. Their blackened chicken burger was juicy and mouthwatering. The chicken was perfectly grilled to my liking, the fresh greens and onions were crisp and local. Worth another visit for sure to try their veggie burger and hand-cut fries. Overall, it was one happy meal.Food – 4.5/5 (-.5 may be few fries with burger)Service – 4/5Ambience – (take-out)Value for Money – 4/5
I work across the street from here and have popped in for lunch a couple times. This place is always busy, best to get there a little before noon to avoid the rush and lineup. I tried the Ranch Burger and it’s always so juicy, flavorful, with just the right amount of bbq sauce. Also, the Pacific Panini is delicious…the combination of smoked salmon, cream cheese, spinach, red onion – so good. I get hand cut fries on the side, tastes fresh and is a pretty big portion. I’m always stuffed after eating here, plus good value for the money spent. One of their most popular items is the Mr.Chicken panini amongst my coworkers.
