We hit this place on a sunny Saturday while on our bikes. Good food and drink specials(even on a weekend) if you get there between 3-6PM(and lots to choose from the happy hour menu). Parking would be a bit of a hassle(it is Kensington, after all) but the service was quick and we were full and satisfied by the time we left. bighairandhighheels.com
I find the food average to slightly above average depending on what you order. Sometimes I like their menu changes more than other times. Service has always been friendly. Their hamburger has been consistently enjoyable.
As pubs go this place sets a new high mark for food. Every meal I’ve eaten here has exceeded my expectations. I’ve had fish and chips, bone in short ribs, burgers and fresh oysters. All came timely, properly prepared and left me properly full. They change up the menu regularly but maintain the standard items we all like. I should give them a ‘5’ but nobody gets 100%.
Love the fact they are supporting local brews and companies. We had the wild rose colab stout with Calgary Heritage Roasting Company what a treat! The tacos were on special. They were good ($2.50 a piece) but also half size so it wasn’t really a deal in the end to be honest. My friends burger was huge so that was probably the better deal in the end. Service was great despite it being so busy. I’ll have to go back sometime!
Love their food, their atmosphere, their staff!! Service was awesome and efficient. Drinks are amazing. One of my favorite places. Also, their happy hour is amazing!!
Went here for brunch. I got the eggs benedict, and they were good but the portion sizes felt a bit small especially for the price. It was nice, but there are far better brunch places in the kengsinton area!
Delicious oysters, very good deal a buck a shuck, the Hawaiian pork pizza was great! Very thin crust, lots of cheese, flavourful pork. Love the atmosphere, service and food were prepared quick.
