I’ve had their beef pho, their spring rolls and this one other rice dish. Everything was very basic and nothing special for the price they charge. I could eat at one of those Viet Pho Restaurants for half the price, larger portions and more flavour.
What I ordered: Takeout – lemongrass chicken vermicelli with extra chickenThe good: Great service, the girl at the counter was lovely. I appreciated that they did not put sprouts in the bowl. The spring rolls in the noodle bowl were pretty good and stayed crunchy on the walk to my apartment. The not-so-good: There was barely any chicken in the bowl even though I ordered extra and the chicken was really bland. It’s also expensive for a vietnamese restaurant.Final verdict: I doubt I’ll go back. TAO 1 block away has cheaper prices and more flavour in their food.
I have tried several items from this restaurant and have enjoyed them all. Sate beef pho- the beef isnt stringy and fatty like other pho places I have eaten at. The sate flavor isnt too strong though and needed to add some hot sauce. The seafood pho has a nice crab claw in there; you can tell the quality of the ingredients are above average at this place. The lemongrass chicken and satay beef vermicelli and rice bowls are a good sized portion and very filling (fresh veggies and veggie spring rolls in there). I did prefer the beef over the chicken. I have also tried the beef salad rolls and shrimp salad rolls which are always freshly made to order and are delicious. Staff is always friendly and speedy. The place is very small so get there before the lunch rush if you want to snag a table!
I absolutely love the food here, and compared to a lot of other Vietnamese restaurants downtown, this is definitely one of the best I have tried. I ordered takeout for lunch today and it was so delicious I went back to get takeout again for dinner. The beef noodle soup is full of flavour and spices, and the thinly sliced beef was perfect. Perfect for a chilly day like today. The staff are very friendly and the interior is modern, bright, open spaced, and clean.I like how they give you compostable takeout containers as well. That being said, I have a hard time believing the negative reviews.I highly recommend this place to anyone that likes flavourful noodle soup
The space is absolutely gorgeous. It does get packed during lunch on the weekdays so go a little earlier if you want to get a seat. The food was average. Paid $40 (includes tip and tax) for 2 people – 1 vermicelli bowl, 1 pho, 2x Vietnamese ice coffees
Average food, Pho broth was fragrant, beef was a little bit tough. Small table for 2. Self Serve WARM water. A few other Vietnamese Restaurants within a 2 block radius. You’re definitely better off checking one of the other ones. Trendy and hipstery hangout, with poor food.
Average taste and relatively smaller portion. Lunch time gets really crowded and not enough seats, so mostly takeout during lunch. I prefer Balo across the street especially for the vegetarian options.
