I was invited to Paper St. Last night for a company function. Location wise this restaurant is on Stephen Avenue out of the core area and close to globe cinema. I tasted some of their appetizers (corn dog, fish taco and buffalo chicken slider) which were abundant in flavor. Their fish taco had a generous portion of fish to batter ratio which had a nice crunch. I took a bite into the corn dog and noticed it had ground filling and not your usual once piece of hot dog with a glaze of this mysterious pink sauce (probably mayo) on top. The chicken slider was crispy and the buffalo sauce was tangy and spicy (hotter than usual but I love burning hot). Overall I would come back here again.
Great service, the food was fantastic and hot. Had the coconut margarita and definitely didnt want to stop at one! My other half had the Nashville crispy chicken sandwich and he inhaled it! I had the Poboy and it was superb!!! Great meal. Will be back!
Food was great. Unfortunately the drinks were a disappointment. $8.75 for a glass of Guinness. Yes, a 14oz glass of beer. Not a pint! Most expensive beer anywhere downtown.
The food was good. We had fish tacos for Tuesdays special at $4. The happy hour beer specials only only include kinds like pabst. Corona is $6 on Tuesdays. The place is big and not that busy. Service was very slow at 3pm as we were left alone for long stretches of time and my second appy was forgotten. I did like the food though and the atmosphere. I will still likely return for Tuesday tacos and maybe to try the sliders for $3 during happy hour.
Mediocre at best. Was not impressed with preparation and taste of food. The size of portions was not significant considering the price. There are much better lunch spots in downtown Calgary.
In Calgary for a conference, trying not to eat the same thing twice, my coworker suggested this for lunch.The service was okay. Friendly, but seemed under a lot of pressure. We were her second table.The food…I wrote up a whole long thing about the food, but my fat fingers erased it. Instead of trying to capture that magic again I’ll leave you with my final thought:The Dynasty Bowl made me wish I live Calgary.
We went out late on a Thursday night, the place was mildly busy, but we were seated right away at a table of our choice. The wait staff was friendly and fairly prompt. After a look through the menu we decided on the ramen burger and tacos, both cauliflower and pulled pork, as well as drinks. The street mule was quite the deal, 5$ after 3, very tasty. The ramen burger was what it was, if you don’t like the sound of it you probably wouldn’t like it, but it was delicious and unique. But the tacos were absolutely to die for, just great complex flavors that were more than the sum of their parts. And my girlfriend loved the fries. It’s was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.
