Pork and Chicken subs are so GOOOOOOD. I don’t know about other dishes, but their subs and rolls are great.
Has gone very far downhill. When I first started eating sate beef subs at Sate Sub they were marvelous with tasty beef, hot sate, fresh vegetables and were nicely made. Starting last fall and continuing on to this day the subs are uniformly bland and boring. The bread has gone downhill, the beef is more fat and sinew than meat, poor quality vegetables (brown cilantro today) and the skill that the subs are made exemplify the complete lack of care and thought put into making a sub. Today’s sub was made in such a fashion, with the sate sauce not being spread out over the bread, just a large oily clump left at one end of the bun and the rest of the ingredients scattered around it.I asked for brown bread, got white.I asked for spicy sate, given a huge dollop of no-heat sate on one end of bun (see above).I asked for salt & pepper, received none. While its still cheap, it’s not good.
I though it was good,. Service was ok little slow. But the spring rolls were awesome. My meatball sub was ok everything tasted fresh. The bun was like it jsut came out of the oven(soft)The lady running the till was quite comical. Better than the golden arches. I’d go back. 8 bucks for my combo. worth it.
Not good. I can’t remember the exact meal I ordered but it was awful. Some of the most rubbery chicken I’ve ever tasted and the sides (some sort of salad and tempura) also tasted funny. Luckily, the portions were small. Definitely not worth $11 or the 25 minute wait. I won’t be back to this one.
Sate Sub: Good; Until You Find Better. I’m actually not shocked this place has a high of a rating as what it does. For what they do.. This is actually quite good.Decent Price and Decent Food. That’s about it.I’ve given this place 3/5 for a few reasons.Yes, The food is Good and Reasonably Priced. But that’s where it ends really.I’ve been to Sate Sub a handful of times, but a few things really bother me.Fact of the matter is – We’re paying for a service that we can easily get from several other places in this area. I find the people that run this place outrageously rude. I usually don’t mind people speaking in another language.. but they seem to take their customers hospitality for granted. The last few times I’ve gone.. I’ve found them being quite rude; Yelling.. Ignoring me. So the service here really brought it down from a 4.5 or even a 5 to a 3.Another thing is the Hours. Monday to Friday 11-6.Doesn’t really work if you’re working late, or having Weekend Cravings. The food? It’s great. I’ve only had the Subs – Based on the reviews I’ve read on here, I love the BBQ Pork Sub. Spicy and a Decent Portion. The Spring Rolls could use a little work. The portion is tiny and I found that it doesn’t have alot of filling. They also need to add more Fish Sauce, The portion their is tiny as well.I will continue eating here as it is convenie
Average run of the mill Vietnamese food.. This is your typical Vietnamese food. It’s good but nothing extraordinary.. I had #19 Beef Sate with Spring Rolls on vermicelli. teh portions are a bit smaller than typical Vietnamese places but it was still tasty adn I was full afterwards. Many people walked out with bubble tea so next time I will make sure I order one too. They were making it with fresh fruit, not the powered stuff.
I like their subs – they are very tasty! I especially like their BBQ sate chicken sub.
