Definitely one of my favorite cafes in Calgary. Very small, but I love the decor and the atmosphere in there. Location is convenient if you’re in the Kensington area. I always get a tea latte and they’ve been wonderful each time, but my friends whom drink coffee say the coffee is great, as well.
BEST COFFEE IN THE CITY!! They don’t joke around about coffee here. If you are looking for a good drip coffee, cappuccino, latte or anything coffee go here! They also roast all their own beans in house! Great place, with interesting people!
My favorite thing about the Roasterie is that you can buy your own beans by bulk from the owners! They have a huge variety from all over the world. The owner(s?) were definitely the trailblazers from Calgary’s coffee culture back in the 80’s. 15% off CJSW discount on the beans!
Look there is no BS about coffee quality here. Strong bold smokey flavours and the burnt roasting fumes fill the air around you. U are sure to be alert and perky leaving here! A must visit for coffee purists!
Very nice staff and a pretty good atmosphere – unfortunately the coffee is between palatable to bad. Some drips are fine but I’ve yet to have a nice espresso based drink – to my sadness… Perhaps one day. And sugar can solve many coffee problems.
Wonderful & knowledgeable staff, and the best bulk coffee selection makes this place easily the best coffee place in Calgary. Seating is somewhat limited (but it’s Kensington, so what do you expect), but the staff and strong aroma of coffee seems to attract some great people as well.
For someone who comes from Melbourne, Australia,it was very difficult finding a good qualitycoffee in Calgary. Only stumbled across this little gem, whilst waiting for a friend to get a haircut. It is definitely by far the best coffee in town, and they even had a ‘proper’flat white! Will be back to visit when there in Winter!
