I have always loved Ikea food. The hot dogs and ice cream by the cash are cheap, quick and exactly what you’d expect.The food upstairs is awesome for the price…you just can’t go wrong here. I normally have the Swedish meatballs or the salmon or the ridiculouslycheap pasta and sauce, or the gravlax or soup or dessert and I always get a delicious pear drink. I walked in last week and couldn’t believe that they had fish and chips! I was even given double tartar sauce which made the experience that much better. TBH who doesn’t like Ikea’s Swedish meatballs? For only $6 a plate, it’s totally worth it. It’s a great place if you want to go on an Ikea date and then food! Finish off with their $1 cones ! They also serve mini cute bottles of Barefoot wine.
The fries with gravy and garlic toast are awesome. The other items are a waste of time. Nice atmosphere. Alot of good looking gals surprisingly visit Ikea.
Disappointing todayThey have become chincie. Free coffee and tea but you have to get the tea from the cashier now and only Red Rose. And the juice machines were both turned off. For breakfast We like to get double eggs. They now only give two 1/2 portions of eggs when you ask for that so you only get one. I would be better to order two regular orders and throw the potato and sausage away. I understand that they are trying to cut costs. But when it becomes a stingy loss leader it becomes no fun. That ruins the experience. We still like ikea. Just today we are disappointed.
Breakfast for $1?! It’s real, and is aaalright! Head upstairs to the restaurant and get a smaller portion of eggs, lots of hashbrowns and a little sausage for the cost of 100 pennies. I think it’s great for kids (and adults too). There are lots of items to supplement your meal available such as pancakes, bacon, French toast, juice, milk, chocolate milk, coffee, etc.For lunch and dinner, my favourite item is there meatballs, which are supplemented with fantastic gravy, and awesome fries. I hear their fish and chips is good too but I stick with my favThe value and the price you pay is excellent.
I’ve never had a bad meal from IKEA’s restaurant, although over the past couple of months, the restaurant seems to have gone down in quality service-wise. Long lineups, no trays available at the lineup, and improper glasses that are much too small for use at the soda fountain are just some of the issues I’ve seen lately.
Best soft serve ice cream in Calgary! Plus for $5 we got two ice creams, pizza, hot dog and pop. Lol. Boys and girls this is the best date restaurant in calgary, it is super cheap, you get what you pay for, and then you can walk around looking at ikea furniture and look at stuff you’re never going to get and walk away with the best / worst impulse purchase. Truly the biggest dining experience as you are eating in a 590,000 square foot ware house. Life is full of simple pleasures, and the ikea restaurant experience is one of them.
