The staff were very friendly and the portions were huge! It’s great to find a place that specializes in lamb dishes. The dishes are always very filling and they have quite a range of appetizers that can be shared amongst a table, as well as individual bowls.
What I ate: sat beef salad rolls and the sat veggie noodle soup. The soup’s broth wasn’t spicy as you would expect from how it’s described on the menu. It was mild but flavourful and you could definitely taste the peanut in it. The veggies it contained were broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snap peas, bean sprouts, green onions, and unfortunately tomatoes as well. I appreciate the extra nutrition from adding in a red vegetable in the soup but it tasted weird after absorbing the broth and definitely felt awkward and a little out of place. The noodles were broad vermicelli noodles and were fitting for the soup. If you want tofu in your soup then it’s around $2 more the worker said. Also, the broth is chicken based he also said I believe so just a heads up if you’re vegetarian/vegan. 🙂 The salad rolls weren’t anything special and in fact sort of lacked flavour. The sat beef didn’t really taste like it was marinated and the rolls weren’t rolled tightly enough or proper. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere and I’ve definitely made better sat beef at home. Maybe it was just a bad day for them but the rolls seemed like they were lazily made. I would definitely return to have the soup again if I were in the area though.
Delicious? 4.5/5Had the Sate Veggie Soup with tofu, as the clerk said this was the dish with the most veggies. Lots of flavour… spicy! Veggies were perfectly cooked, crisp-tender. My only complaint is that they’re bigger than bite-sized. A bit awkward.Healthy? 3/5This dish gets you in the neighbourhood of half veggies, with a nice variety – broccoli, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, bean sprouts, onions. I appreciate the tofu option, as well as chicken and shrimp, if you prefer. Downsides: Grains are white rice, white bread, rice vermicelli – no whole grain options. Likely very high in sodium, and no nutrition info available to confirm. Right for you? 5/5Service was very friendly. Quick, clean. Free wifi. Quiet at 6pm. Not sure why. sweetspotnutrition.ca
A great modern place for a quick snack or a full meal. I notice that dining in doesn’t give you glass plates instead I was given Styrofoam or plastic containers which can be harmful for the environment, but that might be a nitpick.I had an order of 3 beef salad and 4 vegetarian deep fried spring rolls. The beef salad rolls came with peanut sauce, the taste is really good and filling for eating all 3. Just a small warning that the wrap used for the salad roll is sticky, so please don’t use a napkin to wrap around as it will stick to the food. The vegetarian rolls on the other hand is good as well, but not as filling compared to the salad roll in my opinion. It also came with plum sauce. Also, don’t forget to grab bubble tea for drinks as they use real fruits or concentrated juice. But they also serve powder types. The pearls are done right, not too soggy or hard.Overall it is yummy, and I will update this review once I’ve ordered more from this location. Until next time. genegietheexplorer.blogspot.com
Awesome fresh food.. Cheap, fast and super good quality!
Not good. They use cheap ingredients and no name brand siracha but try and pass it off as the real thing. The meat tastes weird and is coated nasty sauce and the portion is small. Avoid and go for Viet elsewhere
The Best Wor Won Ton Soup. We’ve tried Wor Won Ton in several Asian restaurants, from Wor Won Ton famed to sit down and this is hands down the best among all of them. The won ton’s are fresh, they don’t have that soggy grey-ness to them, the filling is tasty and you have your choice. The veggies are fresh steamed in a great broth there’s also a bit of clean white chicken and a couple of shrimp to make it all interesting. I do add add just a bit of soy sauce and Chili sauce to. There are no yucky fillers like a ton of old noodles or slices roast beef with grizzle. Just a nice bowl of good freshness.
