The space inside is warm and modern with the nice flooring and the Edison bulbs. Ordered the Gorgonzola gnocchi and the prosciutto and arugula pizza. Husband liked both. I liked the gnocchi – the pizza was alright. Felt like it was missing something though. Coffee was not good and would not recommend.
This is one of those places where you order and pay at the front and they bring you your food after. However the pricing structure is more consistent with a table service restaurant. I’d have been more satisfied if I’d paid 30% less. ($39 for a pasta, two sides and a glass of wine.) I ordered the carbonara. Drenched in butter. No concept of the proper preparation of the sauce and egg. On penne when I asked for linguini. 4/10 ($13)The polpette (meat balls) were fairly decent. Albeit luke warm on arrival. Sauce was a little on the sweet side. ($7)The mixed greens were VERY oily. One large piece of brocolini and about one leaf of collard greens. Fairly tasty but rather overpriced at $6. (A hint of lemon would do wonders here.)$12 for a 9oz glass of wine that retails for under $12 is hard to swallow. Usually 100% markup is passable but this is basically fast food. The room probably looked sharp when they opened but the furniture and finishes are looking pretty beaten up in a rather short time. The staff looks like they’d all rather be elsewhere. Won’t be returning.
I had always been curious about this place as I passed it when going to my favourite Walmart. I decided to go in the other day for a small meal. We ordered the Via Poutine and the mushroom soup. It’s the type of place where you order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. It reminds quite a bit of Famoso, another favourite of mine. The food arrived very quickly and was hot. The poutine was a great size and full of saucy porky goodness. I found it a bit too mild but then I added the chili oil and it became quite delicous! The soup was hot and creamy and pretty good as far as mushroom soup goes.We are excited to go back and try the carbonara, pizza and gelato and update this review! momnomnomsblog.wordpress.com
Had a chicken parm sandwich ( not sure of the proper name). You could barely see the piece of chicken it was so thin, and the breading was very greasy. All it tasted like was spaghetti sauce on a bun. For the price I would recommend going to the Italian market on Fairmont and southland to get a proper tasty sandwich for half the price.
Came here for lunch on Sunday first time trying thief restaurant the inside is nice and the staff friendly but ordered a Pollo penne which was suppose to be a chicken sandwich ended up with a un eatable pasta dishe was greesy and and had a bad after taste the pop was flat and the price ridiculous 16 dollars for a bowel of pasta with no meat would not recommend.
Very impressed! Really great service. The food was above average. We tried the caesar chicken salad. Delicious! Good size, good dressing and the chicken was cooked properly. The gnocchi was so yummy! The sauce was perfect! Would recommend this place and will be back.
LOVE the dine in experience as it is the perfect blend between a fastfood and restaurant. The decor is unique to me with some rare to find edison bulbs and a shiny pop machine that allows you to select your beverage. The food is prepared for you as you can watch through the glass divider and the seperation of the beverage point of sale from the food point of sale is sheer genius. The gelato I havent tried but it is on my to do list.Food is delicious and flavourful, giving the customer some authentic italian choices and the italian soda stands head and shoulders above the competitors. No free refills :(Food is a bit pricy but what were you expecting? This aint your mom and pop pizza shop!
