Its a basic pub at the bottom of the Sheraton Eau Clair. Honestly I expected something more lavish given the brand of the hotel, it felt very quiet on a weekend evening and somewhat detached. It neither has the park feeling it should have being so close to Princes Island Park, or a pub in a downtown feel for it was mostly empty. Basic fare food wise. Service was decent.
My co-workers and I come here often. We really love the atmosphere, the friendly staff & the food is always fresh and delicious! The manager Justin always goes out of his way to say hi and ask how we are doing, as does their bartender Jim. We feel right at home! Favourites on the menu have to be the French Onion Soup (AMAZING), the deep friend pickles (YUM), Poutine (perfect fries, amazing gravy & the meltiest curds!) & the blood orange martini (need I say more)
Talk about the most basic food and service one can ask for, but at a premium price. I figured a meat pie would be a specialty, but it had no seasoning, just a thick gravy and grisly lamb. No sauce came with the fries – that costs extra. Everything is way overpriced. Felt like I was interrupting my waitress’s afternoon by being there. Nothing of note on the tap either – just the usual bland beer.Find a nice restaurant with a menu that has tasty food to eat at, not here.
