We found this place because of a coupon in the entertainment booklet. SO GOOD. Its a little bit more expensive than some places but the quality was melt in your mouth delicious. Also, took about 30 minutes for him to prepare our order but the wait was worth it and it was presented beautifully when we picked it up. Whenever we are in Edmonton we will most likely be visiting this little sushi take out spot.

A search for nearby restaurants to work for lunch made me realize that Kami was nearby – a place that I had wanted to try for a long time and then completely forgot about. I really anticipated the lunch trip there, since I had read online reviews that they were cheap and high quality sushi. Stopping by on a Friday lunch, the restaurant was empty except one small family waiting for their order. The restaurant itself is more of a takeout place. It was brightly lit and there were about 15 seats in the entire restaurant.I got their menu and took a look at it to see what I wanted. Nothing really stood out to me, so I ended up playing it safe and getting a dynamite roll. I also got a tuna nigiri as I wanted to try their sashimi and see how it was. I found it weird that the owner taking the orders were also making the food – a bit strange but nonetheless effective. A bit later his (presumably) wife and kid arrived, which made me think that this is a small family business. The sushi took forever to make. I waited a good 10 minutes for my roll after the family got their food. I eventually got my roll, paid for it, and took it back to work for lunch. The roll was pretty boring to be honest. I didn’t really enjoy it and the sashimi from the nigiri wasn’t thick and didn’t seem too fresh either. The price is pretty standard too, definitely not cheap as I thought it would be.All in all, considering the wait time and lack of excitement with the roll I likely will not be back too often. The only thing that might keep me coming back to try other items is when I’m craving sushi and willing to pay for it. Or maybe I’ll drive another couple minutes to Mikado. Who knows. I definitely wouldn’t drive across the city for this place though. All in all, recommended.
