I have been here a couple of times while I am shopping at the market I tried most of the tacos some are good others are pretty boring the ones I liked were Cochinita (pork) & the Pastor (pork with pineapple) were juicy lots of flavor. I also tried the chorizo, Barbacoa (beef) & Mixiote (chicken) was not a fan they were over cooked & dry.
We visited this morning for a classic breakfast – huevos rancheros. The eggs were perfect, whites cooked through and the yolk soft and runny. Set on top of some tortillas and covered in ranchero sauce (excellent), it was the start to the day we’d been wanting. Additionally, the salsa verde and salsa morita were a great add. Nice. Friendly service. We plan on trying some lunch next time. Cheers.
I absolutely love Los Chilitos. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and have never had a bad meal. I’ve tried the fish tacos, meat taco plate, macho nachos, ceviche, guacamole – you name it!A few times the service has been slow but I would definitely recommend it! It’s my go-to at the farmers’ market on Blackfoot too!
Had a great meal here. Staff also friendly and let me try a sample of sauce to see if I liked it before ordering. Cocktails good too. Small inside so maybe make reservation. girlwithbambieyes.co.uk
Tortilla soup here is spot on, well seasoned and deep in flavour. Chicken fajitas, on the other hand, are a pass – both the protein and accompanying vegetables and rice are dry. You’ll be waiting for awhile so get comfy. jonlin.ca
New Mexican FAVOURITE. Well, our favourite Mexican place in Calgary shut it’s doors (and apparently the quality went into decline)leaving us hungry for Mexican cuisine until we can travel South again. This place has great atmosphere and wonderful food. ***NOTE*** We have yet to visit here when it wasn’t packed to the rafters with guests, which is always a good sign. There is one complaint I have with all the Mexican restaurants in Calgary though – No one offers complimentary corn chips and salsa like they do in Mexico.
No bueno. This place is consistently bad. Maybe it’s my own fault I’ve given it ten tries only to be disappointed every single time. This was the last chance though. Ordered the tortilla soup and specifically asked if they could make sure it was hot ( since it’s always luke warm). What did I find? Luke warm watery flavorless soup. I returned the entire soup after one bite and said this soup has no flavor to which I got three blank stares.Adios Los chilitos
