This place is located inside the Calgary’s Farmer Market. I got the cheese bun with roasted garlic and it was delicious! It was covered generously with cheese and had chunks of garlic inside. It was heavenly!
I don’t even like coconut, and their lemon coconut chiffon cake made me weak in the knees! The fluffiest, yummiest cake I had tasted in a long time. Their cakes are moist, not too sweet and perfectly frosted. I adore these guys!
I’m not too sure where I stand on this bakery. I’ve visited it a few times in the Calgary Farmers Market. I’ve tried a few things but haven’t been too impressed with anything as of yet. Tasted good, but nothing special. Still willing to give it another try.
YUM!!!!. I have been coming for a while and I LOVE their croissants, cheese buns, wild rice rolls. Great service :)Keep up the great job!!!!
Had their carrot cake and it was delicious! The pumpkin seeds and apricot bits gave it an extra crunch, which is something I love – the extra texture. Fair warning: It is pretty darn sweet so it’s best shared or you’d have leftovers. I’d come back for this yummy carrot cake. Hmmm. 😛
Desserts look a bit sad after days in the cooler. 🙁
Carrot Cake Heaven. My husband and I ventured to the Calgary Farmers Market today, as it seemed to us that was the perfect way to spnd a rainy Sunday afternoon. Technically, it was breakfast for us as we get off work at 5 am on Sun morning, and dont wake til usually around 1 pm. My husband got coffee while I wandered around looking for some sort of pastry for a really late breakfast. I usually get the amazing saskatoon pie they have at another store, but was in the mood for something different. I knew I would find it at Yum Bakery, as their display is always mouth-watering. My husband and I had just the day before, been talking about the fact that, even though he doesnt like carrot cake (I adore it!), it is a real art to get an over-the-top, amazing carrot cake. I have had so many that were average, and was sad to realize that it seemed to be something Calgary was lacking. The pumpkin seed coating atop thick, cream cheese icing, enrobing a carrot cake that looked overflowing with amazing dried fruit and walnuts enticed me to a sense of hope that couldnt be denied. I was so happy to find, not only were all my fears unfounded, but that I would be handsomely rewarded for my culinary courage. The cake itself was so moist, which is always the worst of carrot cakes problems. The cream cheese icing was beautifully creamy, and you could taste the cream cheese, which is a major factor for me. There certainly was an abundance of raisins, dried apricots, carrots, and walnuts in the cake, and you could really discern the spices in the cake itself. I am so over-the-moon, and had to share that I finally feel redemption for the state of carrot cake in Calgary, and this will now be my go-to spot whenever my carrot craving hits next!
