I have been going to this place very often, as the food is not bad. However, the previous two times the owner claimed that the debit machine is not working and that they were accepting cash only. (Fishy) Also, he quoted a few extra dollars on some of the dishes.I think sadly, the management has changed. They need to be aware of the prices printed on their menu. Also, the debit machine needs to be fixed to give consumers the flexibility for payment.
My husband and I love this place! Yes it’s dark and dingy but the food is to die for! This is the only Indian restaurant we eat at/take out. The kadhai chicken is awesome! The goat biryani is pretty good too! The only beef I have with this place is inconsistency. Generally the food tastes the same every time but the raita , man take it easy with the cilantro! I think measuring out the ingredients is key here. Other than that , will keep coming back !
Mediocre at best. For a cuisine that is known to be rich in flavour and spice this place lacks both. My partner and I had various items including their malai kofta and chilli chicken, both bland. Luckily we are huge fans of Indian food, and had some great experiences elsewhere, thus we know that not all places produce food of this poor quality. Even their naan bread was less than satisfying. How can you mess up naan?! It was a real disappointment.
Good Food BUT NOT WORTH IT. The food is good, and cheap for what you get. BUT………. The place is very dirty. The chairs, tables, and cutlery are all very sticky. It makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like and how the food is prepared. They have a dessert shop out front which is very busy. The last time we were here the owner had a bad cold and was coughing everywhere. Good food aside, we will not be back.. p.s. now we have colds
My wife and I are huge fans of this place. We’ve tried many places in Calgary but always come back here for the awesome good and prices. Best peas pulse in the city.
The worst Palace…ever. I agree with the previous reviewer. This restaurant was awful. The older waitress was rude and abrasive. Apparently asking for a plate and napkin is a lot to ask for these days. Perhaps there is a napkin shortage I don’t know about??.The food was pretty darn bad as well, not to mention they ran out if sheekh kebab. They only had enough for one order, but after tasting it that’s probably a good thing. Don’t want others to be subject to the terrible food. This restaurant is a must avoid. The word palace is used very liberally here.
To say this place was terrible would be a massive compliment. Food was bad. Young waitress was friendly. Older lady was flat out rude. Poor atmosphere. Sub standard overall. Jelabi was good. That’s all. You can get it to go…. And then run….far.
