A very unique experience with no cutlery and dishes to eat off of with the Boodle. About $15-$20 a person for this eating off banana leaf experience. Service is not very good with family employees and would think there could be a quick orientation to start for new comers.
The food is great and the prices are low. However, you cannot be in any sort of rush and need to be down with sitting on plastic patio chair in an outdated space… it’s worth it.
Full disclosure – I don’t know anything about Filipino food! I do know that I was looking forward to checking out this cuisine and figured that the dinner buffet would be the best way to do it. Only one item was not deep fried so I didn’t feel great after the first small plate. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the sweet and sour fish the most. I was hesitant because it sounded like a strange combination to me but I’m so glad I tried it. If I was to try Filipino food again, I would definitely go with someone who is familiar with it and have them order from the menu. The price was great though and it appeared that the other folks were enjoying their meals!
The place has a very welcoming ambience with a capacity of 120 sit down table. The food is authentic filipino cuisine. We ordered Pork Bbq on a stick which was served with vinegar dip. Another is the Lomi Noodles which gave a sumptouos sticky noodles soup famius in the Philippines. The next thing to try is boodle fight feast in a group setting. This place is a welcome addition for South Calgary residents and visitors alike . . .
