Beware! Don’t order over the phone.Placed an order over the phone trying to use the menu numbers but the order taker didn’t seem to know the menu. After giving my address, asked about delivery charge, couldn’t tell me how much it might cost. Then was told it would be about 20 minutes for delivery. We called after half an hour to be told the driver just left. After another half an hour, we called again to be told the driver was just receiving the food. Called to complain – they proceeded to say it’s not their fault and hung up.
We had ordered a 50lb roast suckling pig for Christmas Eve dinner for 4:30pm in advance on December 9. We arrived at 5:00pm and waited 55 min only for Gong Kee to give away our pig that we ordered to someone else who had ordered after us. I overheard this from the staff who were speaking in Cantonese. Not only were we late for dinner, we ended up getting about 3lbs of roast pork instead of the intended amount because there was only one pig left to split between us and another client. They were going to make us wait 3 hours to get a pig. If I could give a zero score, I would. While this was one place I would frequent, I dont think I will be coming back for any food after this experience.
