Regardless of what they wrote below, I was told about this place 2 weeks ago, and I had dinner there with friends, and take out.I love this place, I found the place to be very cozy, love the dcor, I found the owner Alvin very friendly and accommodating. Music was fantastic. Alvin and his wife and workers were all very nice to us and just wonderful. To the person who commented about service ordering their patties. if you go in knowing what you want and order what you want, why would they offer you menu? And yes, their debit machinewas not working, that’s fine, its not the only place that has their debit down. And nothing wrong if they want to take cash only.Little inconvenient, but things happen. The price and the portions were perfect. Food is perfect.Unfortunate that you did not have the experience we had. This is definitely one of our main go to places and even for office functions.
Ordered from a delivery service, looking forward to jamaican patties and a beef donair, they decided since they didn’t have the ingredients they would still charge me for a beef donair just not send it and the patties were garbage. Save money and go to 7-11, they’re WAAAAY better. Sucks restaurants like this stay in business
This place has awesome food and pretty good prices for portion size. As much as I enjoy the food, it doesn’t make up for the terrible service.
It’s Ok. I have only been here once,it a cool little restaurant interesting decor decent atmosphere, the food was served on styrofoam plates which was a turn on to me right away…can you not use a regular plate…if people are dining in….the prices are average a little high for the quantity you get…the ackee and saltfish was good but not that much fish the patties were very good and seemed fresh, the good part was that the food was very hot and steam rising from the plate, which is proper to me I like to eat food hot and fresh. The negatives was the area this place is in and that the kitchen didn’t look very clean and was not a professional or even commercial kitchen that most restaurant would have.I wondered if they even had a dishwasher…and they just had a regular old kitchen stove…I guess it does the job but they should renovate their kitchen and get it done properly in my opinion.I probably wouldn’t go back cause I thought it was a bit over priced.
Worst experience ever.. We ordered this, cause we’re moving and didnt want to stop to cook or leave to get something. Its very expensive, the menu had some interesting items niether of us had tried before as well as some tried and true things we recognised. We deicded to be adventurous and ordered the red snapper, which is extremely expensive ($20.00 alone) the rice it came on was initially gross, kind of flavourless. There was only abouy 1/4 cup if actual edible meat, the rest was bones and skin. The donair I had ordered was awfull, the only part that resembled a donair at all was the meat, which was skimpy. It was packed full of lettuce and carrots, and smothered in a mystery sauce that was NOT the sweet sauce I was expecting. The only part of the whole meal I was in any way satisfied with, were the jamaican patties, which were top notch. Once the fish was pulled away from all the bones it was very tasty, but in no way worth any where near $20. We decided to call and make a complaint, the man we spoke to said thats too bad and he ran out of sweet sauce for the donair so improvised, and next time we order he will give us a discount. I’m never ordering from this place again, and don’t bother eating here, too much money, foods not good enough to justify it.
Not fantastic. I was excited to try anything jamaican but just to be safe we got the jerk donairs, disappointing, lots of heat and no real flavor, just chicken and lettuce and there was bones in mine
My gfs uncle owns this place and the food is great! Homemade flavours that satisfy any Jamaican craving.
