The food was okay, they need to understand down the street from them is adobo experience and they have competition. Chicken adobo they left the peppercorns in, they diced up the chicken to make it look like more food but it was like paying for 5 dollars for each piece of chicken. It didn’t even taste like traditional adobo. The only reason for 2 stars is because even if not really what I would call traditional it tasted good. Overpriced though, and when I pay for my adobo I want my adobo. I’ll stick with adobo experience even though this restaurant is literally across the street from me.
I was told about a fairly new and small Filipino restaurant and I decided to check it out. I was craving pork sisig so I decided to order a small serving. Compared to what Pacific Hut offered, the taste was totally different. I understand that each chef prepares their dishes differently but this is a dish that I had once and decided not to have again. I’m going to give this restaurant a 2.5 for now but it may change if I try their breakfast (if offered) or their other dishes. In terms of service, staff was really nice and had no issues picking up the dish.
I was surprised at how small the place is. I went on a Sunday around 1:30pm. There were no tables available. So I walked around the area, there are other restaurants close by. But I really wanted Filipino food. I ordered the Ginataang Sitaw with Kalabasa & Shrimp. It was excellent, not quite as good as my wife’s version. Lol I also ordered the Cheesecake Flan for desert. Overall the prices are reasonable. They do need a bigger place to serve their loyal customers. AAA
Authentic filipino food! We ordered goto (rice porridge) it was delicious! Tokawt baboy is good too. The lomi was alright. Service was ok and the place is really small. All in all not bad experience. Love there merienda style menu
The food here is good. We ordered the noodles, and the crispy pork hock. Both dishes were tasty, but the pork was overfried, making it hard to eat. The cost was also high, given that the only veggies in the vermicelli, were carrots and celery. Hard to become a favorite given the cost.
LOVE it. I was told that the restaurant is under new management. It is now being managed by the previous owner of Barrio Fiesta. We checked it out! To my surprised, the place wasn’t that big but it was very pleasant. We were offered a seat right away and was offered to used the Karaoke while waiting( they’re very nice). There a bit of a wait but the food was so worth itThe krispy pata was good. The best food though was the Kare-kare. I think It was the best one I had from all the filipino restaurant. The SILOGs was the winner! It was so good. I don’t mind spending so much at this restaurant. Tokwat baboy was perfect! The sisig was so good. We are definitely coming back!
Chopstix Filipino Restaurant. Chopstix Restaurant is a Filipino restaurant located in a mini plaza on the Southeast corner of 17th ave and 52nd St. Chopstix is well known for hosting many Filipino community parties and private parties. Their food price is average to other Filipino restaurants in Calgary and is the oldest Filipino restaurant in Calgary. One of the best things about chopstix is the service. Because its a smaller sized restaurant, there’s no need to wait long for service or to place your order. My favourite things to eat there would definitely be the Bangus with rice, Halo Halo, Leche Flan and of course their Crispy Pata!
