Ive been coming here at least once a month with my family since they opened . The service staff here are very friendly and polite. However sometimes the food is hit and miss (lukewarm entrees, appetizers over cooked or missing ingredients). Groups of people who were seated after us getting their food first while we waited 40 minutes to get ours. Due to the friendly service Im pretty sure well continue to come here.
My family and I had a wonderful supper at The Sawmill last night. All of our meals were delicious and the steaks were cooked perfectly! Our server Corey was great! We will absolutely be back again!
The food is generally consistently good however the service has been awful each time. We were given the bill and my husband paid in cash, and before we were able to figure out the tip, the server asked how much of the change we wanted (which is a server no no) and my husband was on the spot so he said she could keep it. We ended up tipping $55, which was absolutely not deserved just because the server had the gall to ask what her tip would be. Completely ruined the night and I was livid. Won’t be returning.
This place is always really good. We’ve been to this locations 20+ times and have not had negative experience. The steak and prim rib is always great, service is good… Cant ask for much more!
We’ve been here to eat in the lounge half a dozen times and while the food is always good (we always have the steak sandwiches), I have to complain that they really have not adapted their menu for us Celiac clientele in any way. When I order a steak sandwich they have no gluten free flat bread, no gluten free croutons or soya sauce for the Caesar salad, no olive oil or red wine vinegar for me to dress my own garden salad, no gluten free desserts unless I scrape the crust off the cheesecake. Moreover, I asked the bar manager on SIX different occasions in 2014 if be would get gluten free beer in and he said he would look into it and bring it up at the next meeting and gave me lip service each time and it never happened. Their menu has no mention of a gluten free option anywhere. We finally started going 3 blocks away to Original Joe’s as they have an amazing gluten free menu and my favorite brand GF beer! Wake up Sawmill. It’s 2015!
Service was bad…. Some of the waitresses were dressed more for a strip club not a fine dinning lounge. Small bar so they should talk a bit quieter when talking about customers. Food was great.
My third at this establishment and by far best experience thus far. I dined alone in the lounge and the televised hockey games kept my interest. My server was lovely and suggested a butterflied steak with butter for my well done fillet! The meal was absolutely wonderful! The wine was great! The manager visited me and chatted and truly seemed to want to know how my dinner was. I will be back!
