Me and my husband were hesitant to go due to the bad reviews but we still gave it a try. I would say I definitely disagree with the negative comments. Maybe the food and the service were not as good at the time these negative comments came but that’s not what we have experienced. It was the opposite. We came to the restaurant and there were several large groups (birthday party, baby shower), a few smaller groups, and a few families. The restaurant was mostly full. The food and presentation was great. The variety of desserts were good, the ambiance was nice, and most of all the service is great. We chatted with the server, she kept checking on each table, the chef on the eggs Benedict and flamb are very accommodating, they explained what they are making and asking customers how they like the food. I think if you’re very picky and super fancy type of person then don’t go to this place, this isn’t the Banff springs brunch (nor do they charge you the price of the banff springs brunch). Times are tough, they are doing their best to provide good service and good food so be careful when writing your comments because it does impact these restaurants. For the average person I’m sure you will be more than happy with your experience.

Meh. There’s not much else to say. We’ve been a few times — on Father’s Day and the like. The kid likes the chocolate fountain. The omelette bar is par for the course, it’s tough to screw up eggs. The coffee really is awful. For $22. That’s about $100 for a family of four. It’s money best saved.

Sunday brunch. First time to go and very dissatisfied. The food was not great all.Plates were piling up on our table and no one came, so I instead put it away, until someone arrived.Desert station was fabulous, especially the chocolate fountain. Orange juice was so fresh and delicious, rather than that all a joke.I love to eat and love to pay the right amount. For the price we pay, the food was not near that. Also got service charged, which iam totally disappointed. Please let me know in the beginning, don’t surprise me.For me and my family it was a total waste…

GREAT. For that Michelle that did NOT like the bistro, have you been to the Grey Eagle,we went there when it first opened & it was pretty good, but then the food got lousy, the only thing that was warm was the soup,& it was not even that good, great if you like vegetable soup without the vegetables, the meat we could not even cut,, the omlets were made right there & they were the only thing that was descent…& you want to talk about service, now I know why they take your money FIRST– we have tried a LOT of buffets,& we have always gone back to the Horizon Bistro,, guess your used to steak & cavier every night.if you didn’t find it good.. it is a great place, service & staff are great, food terific ,,,,, Jack01 Dec, 2012GREAT. We have been to a LOT of Sunday brunches & now we have been going to the Bistro for almost 3 yrs.& we find it very satisfying,, they have a great selection to choose from, the staff are very friendly & the service is great,,the food is delicious, the prices are WELL within reason..compared to a lot of other places, we see a lot of regulars going there & a lot of the new people can’t get over how much food there is to choose from… try it & if your not impressed than ther’s something wrong with you….. Terrible. Near empty dining room but everything took a long time. Server was nice when present. The coffee is terrible, not even remotely salvageable. Our sandwiches came out on soggy and low quality buns. The mashed potatoes were definitely mixed, beyond the odd texture and lacking flavor they were cold. Save your money. This place is not worth pennies let alone your hard earned dollars.

The decor is definitely dated. We were there on a Sunday at 5 pm and the restaurant was deserted. Not the greatest impression. The server really needed to write things down as drink orders needed to be done twice. The saving grace was the food. The kids pizza was a handmade crust and my daughter devoured it and the kids spaghetti was also a big hit. New York steak was done perfectly and the mixed veg was a nice mix of zucchini, asparagus, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. My companions had a Cobb salad which was very good and a club sandwich that was pretty standard fair. A little pricey but overall a nice casual dinner

Good Flamb in Mediocre Buffet. A pretty standard buffet, Horizons has a decent selection of brunch items: prime rib, seafood, eggs, bacon, and sausage. There’s also an omelette and eggs benedict station that freshly makes these breakfast items. The dessert bar is quite large with a great selection of cakes and pies as well as a chocolate fountain.I will say my favourite part of he experience was the flamb. A total dish of indulgence, I was astonished by how much butter and ice cream they loaded into it. Incredibly rich.I can’t say I was blown away by the food quality, but for a large family gathering, it was enough to satisfy for about $22 per person. What was disappointing was putting our 13 person party in a room and being neglected by the servers for drinks, picking up used plates, and overall service. I saw plenty of staff walking around, but no one seemed to be interested in entering our room. Most of the family didnt seem to care, but for me it wasn’t an impressive experience.
