My boyfriend and I went to The Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot Restaurant. It was us N times been to this restaurant, but it was the first time having food at the Calgary location. Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot is a Chinese Hot Pot restaurant. It has so many locations in all over the world. There are lots of locations in Canada. There is only one location in Calgary. The Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot Restaurant in Calgary is located at 999 36 St NE #100a Calgary.Environment:The restaurant was opened around 11 am. We arrived Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot Restaurant around 11:30 am. The restaurant was not busy. We could get a table very easy. Inside the restaurant, it was very nice and clean.Service:After we sat down, the server brought the menu to the table. There were two different kinds of menus. One is for all you can eat and another one is lunch menu. We had the Lunch Menu to order. We ordered two lunch combos and two lamb strews for lunch. The food came out the kitchen fast.Food:The meat was super fresh. The soup base was very tasty. There are lots of dipping sauces, which is great. Each combo includes noodles, vegetable, and meat. But, it was a super small portion. Also, the lamb strews were small and cold. Im not very like it. But, my boyfriend loved them.Price:The prices of the lunch combos were around $15 include the tax. It was great. The lamb strews were over prices. food.belindajin.com
This place is pretty great. The portions are decent, and the soup is delicious. Go in expecting Chinese restaurant service, and stop complaining about it. It’s not a surprise. You gotta get BOLD in places like this. Hold up a hand to get their attention. Don’t be white and polite. Just get it done.
This place doesn”t even deserve one star. We came as a family which we had been here before. We were sat down at a dirty table which my mother cleaned herself. She told the server that the table was dirty so he handed her the cloth. The server should have come to clean their table not my mother. No one offered us drinks not even water and brought us a pot of tea for our table of seven. No one checked in with us and no one cleared the dirty dishes. Then when we decided not to leave a tip because of the lack of service and the over all experience was terrible. The guy came over to ask why we didn’t leave a tip. We listed all the reasons we didn’t tip the guy yelled and swore in the restaurant. Other customers looked as him and he told us not to come back ever. Then he bashed into my sister basically hurting her. Do not eat here! The place is dirty, the service mega sucks, and you get yelled at as a customer. Just wow!
My family and I visited Little Sheep on December 23rd at 7pm and we had a reservation for 4. We had to wait a few minutes after arriving because nobody was there at the entrance but once noticed we were seated promptly. Our expectations were pretty high since we are regulars at the Montreal location but this wasn’t half as good. Our table wasn’t clean making it hard for us to sit and it took at least 10 minutes to get someone’s attention to clean the table. Once seated we weren’t even asked for our drink orders and they just threw the sheet at us. Service was extremely flaky and slow, we didn’t receive food that we asked for and it took 20 minutes to get a drink refill. Pop and dessert weren’t included in the price unlike other locations and the quality of beef was a little lower than usual. The weirdest thing was that they poured the soup out of pitchers instead of kettles.I’ll probably never be back at this location.
I would avoid this restaurantat all cost as the service and its practice is horrendous. When my family and I came there were only two other tables of people so you’d expect the service to be fast, I thought wrong the first round came in and we were missing half our stuff, when we asked the waiter where was the rest of our food he said he will check on it but never came back. We tried ordering another round and we got the wrong order and gotten the other tables food who were waiting for over 20 minutes. When the time came to pay the bill the same waiter who checked our food said our tip of 5 dollars was not enough for their terrible service and charged us another 15 percent and when we complained to talk to a manager he said he was the manager which was clearly a lie, he then threatened to call the police on us if we didn’t pay the second tip he asked for. This restaurant did the same to the other group waiting to pay as well which they complained and he said the same thing. Never again am I coming to this POS restaurant and now warning others to stay away.
First time eating here. Been to 1 pot. This place is far better. Was very clean and great service. Severs explained how everything works for the all you can eat. Large amounts of food for each order. Definitely didn’t go hungry. Wasn’t rushed to eat. Will be going back!
I’ve been here twice now, both times with groupons. Each time we opted for the half and half, and really enjoyed both broths. The spicy was especially good for cooking in, though it was a bit hard to eat around all the chile’s which were really bitter when I accidentally ate one. I haven’t had hot pot before, so don’t have anything to compare it too, but the selection seemed good, the fatty steak, kimchi, and dumplings in particular were tasty. But the lamb was really strong though, and the shrimp weren’t de-veined, and after you pull a hot shrimp from broth it’s kinda hard to take the shell off and clean it… we didn’t eat them. All the seafood was actually pretty bad. Chewy and frozen.I’d have given them a higher rating except both times I’ve been here they didn’t bring us some of the things we ordered, and brought us things that we didn’t. Over all I quite enjoyed the experience of hot pot, but it’s likely I’ll go elsewhere next time.
