The food is about the only redeeming quality about this restaurant. The service is slow and the wait time for food to arrive was even slower. Took nearly 30 mins for them to bring out a dish of fried noodles and a bowl of noodle soup. Also, the food does not come out at the same time. There were 4 of us that ordered 4 different dishes and they brought food out for 2 of the 4 people. Then a few minutes later, the third person got their food. By the time the final person got their food, it had been at least 10 minutes since they served the first two. By that time, the food that the first two people got were cold. And don’t even try to complain…it just falls on deaf ears. It was the only time we didn’t leave a tip of any kind…don’t care if the staff remembers us for that, because we will not be back!
The caf serves a Hong Kong style caf cuisine. There is baked rice, which is delicious and noodle dishes. There are seats that are booth like and the service is alright. There is bubble tea served at the caf. The caf is connected to a Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere of the caf is loud. The space is medium spaced. The washroom is not as clean as it should be, the last time I went there. The good is delicious though.
Had the hainan chicken today. Probably on the lower end of Calgary hainan chickens. Rice had a bit too much coconut flavour and soup was a bit too salty. But here’s nothing much in the area so if you wanted it here’s were you go.
You can’t go wrong when you want some HK style food. Went during the weeknight during dinner time and it’s never busy. They are quick too. Baked rice is a must!.
Love coming here for HK style diner food. I got the shredded pork & thousand year old egg congee and it came boiling hot in a clay pot. One of my favourite comfort food. I was craving ying yang fried rice- half red sauce and half white sauce on fried rice. My favourite is always the white side so I asked for only the white side. They were very accommodating and was able to customize my order. Food came out really quickly and food was good.
Im happy I found a place open on christmas eve and christmas. Apparently Chinese don’t give a fuq about Christian holidays which was convenient for me.They have some interesting and tasty dishes. Some are a hit or a miss.Service is a bit off putting. Treated me like I owed them money or something. Not a thank you, or smile or anything. And I eat there regularly and always tip 20% +. Not saying every service staff there was stuck up. A few are accomodating, while the rest would probably look the other way if you needed something.Hygiene and safety practices are questionable. They gave me a straw that was stained at the tip. Gross.
I will give them no star at all if i can. worst service i have ever seen. no thank you, no goodbye. the cashier looks like that i owe her money. what a garbage place. worst experience in Calgary
