Not a true representation of Caribbean cuisine; bad, very bad indeed. I went to this joint after calling to ensure they would be open. The reception was Luke warm. When I got to the place the reception was cold, workers/owners were downright rude. I am 100% Caribbean and this place was a poor representation of the Caribbean spirit or culinary aptitude. It was am embarrassment. The food was tasteless, cold, poorly presented and way over priced. Shame on you ladies, shame on you!Wendy
No Answer on a Friday night at 8:45pm. I thought I would call and not waste a trip which I’m glad I did. They close at 930pm and no one is picking up the phone at 845pm.Great business.
UNSAFE BAKING PRACTICES. They bake black cake in those Butter Cookie tins. Have spoke to suppliers of those tin’s in addition to numerous bakers. This people just don’t want to purchase proper bakeware and if you are only ordering one slice you wouldn’t know. Bought a whole cake that is how we knew how it was baked. Cake was terrible even if it had been baked in a safe condition we still would have thrown it out.
Overpriced-Unfriendly-Tasteless. Our first interaction upon entering was with the lady behind the counter. She did not say hello, smile or show any attempt to welcome us. After an uncomfortable series of question (met with almost disgust by the lady), we placed our order and waited. We ordered 2 small chicken rotis 2 tiny samosas and paid just over $31. The Rotis had 3 or 4 tiny pieces of chicken and were drenched in sauce requiring us to eat with a knife and fork. Overall, the food was absolutely tasteless. Having grown up in a caribbean family, this is not a true representation of our cuisine and is basically terrible value for your money. We will never return to this restaurant and truly hope that Calgary has another restaurant that better exemplifies the wonderful food of the Islands. Two thumbs down!
Fake!. 1st and last time I will ever eat a roti with KNIFE & FORK, cheaply done!!! not a true representation of our cuisine. Doubles a waste of time trying, it fails to compare to real thing. NO QUALITY = NO MONEY = NO BUSINESS. Go somewhere else…
SAD. Jerk Chicken – tasteless and small portionChicken Roti – Not horrible…but ridiculously small for the price, and runny. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. There was probably 6 teenie tiny pieces of chicken in it…it was more like Potato with a few pieces of chicken roti!King Fish – okayDoubles – HORRIBLE!!!! They warmed it up in the microwave for too long and it got HARD AND tasted STALE!!! It was a doubles cracker!SERVICE – I felt so unwelcomed there, like my service didn’t matter by an older and very unfriendly lady. She rolled her eyes at me, and kicked so much attitude when I asked her a question about the menu. On top of that the prices were by far ridiculous! MY SUGGESTION!!! GO ELSEWHERE!!!
Overall horribly disappointing. Staff was uninterested and offered no help to a roti newbie. Ridiculously overpriced. Veggie roti tasty but not worth $10.95. Jerk chicken plate sad and banal.
