For some reason the Chatime here tastes a bit different. I’ve had it in Taiwan, Australia and even Calgary but feel that it’s better elsewhere than Edmonton. Love the selection they offer though and roasted milk tea or hazelnut milk tea will always be my favourites.
Everyone knows that Chatime has been my all time fave even before they came to Edmonton. When I found out that they were coming, I knew I had to be there on their opening day.I have only been to the Whyte location a couple of times because it’s quite inconvenient for me. On their opening day, I got the best selling roasted grass jelly milk tea. I haven’t had it since I was last at Calgary a year ago and you don’t know how happy I was to try it again. My second favourite to order is the Singapore milk tea.Just recently, I tried their Taiwanese fried chicken, popcorn chicken, and plum yum fries. They come in regular and spicy but I’ve only tried the spicy variation. The TW fried chicken tastes really good, it’s a bit too oily for me though but at the same time it is juicy and tender. I liked the popcorn chicken better because it’s crispier, not as oily, and I generally prefer eating it because it’s not as messy. The plum yum fries was something new to me as I’ve never tried anything with plum powder before (from my knowledge). The plum is like a salty type of powder and it gives a different taste to yam fries. Definitely not the same taste that salt would give but it’s good. It’s my favourite thing to order there along with the popcorn chicken. There is a lot of seating space there which is great if you want somewhere to hang out with friends. I also heard that a dessert cafe is opening in that same store (not sure on this) but I’m really looking forward to that if it’s true!
Edmonton has been having a slight obsession over bubbletea these days- there are now ample amounts of places to get your BBT fix. My favorite over the ones Ive tried so far has got to be ChaTime. The roasted milk tea is my current addiction; tweaking it with half sweet, regular ice and adding grass jelly as a topping. SO GOOD. They use the big chunks of the grass jelly too, which makes me swoon even more. Not to forget that they have bunny chairs(?! Chairs with ears????!!!!).. AND the advertisement of this giant deep fried chicken thing has been on my radar. STAY TUNED.
