A small store, don’t expect the best quality service but for the prices they have their food is good! Stopping by with a friend around 5pm, the restaurant was very empty and only had a couple other customers. We were told to sit wherever we wanted to, and were promptly served water and the menu by our waiter. I ordered their tofu curry noodle while my friend ordered one of their beef pho dishes. The food was good, I chose the dish based on the reviews i read on here about the vegetarian food being good and I tend to agree! It was a pleasant surprise, and I enjoyed my noodles on a chilly Edmonton evening. However, something I was very disappointed with was the service after being served water. Very often we were left wondering where our server was to take our order, give us our bill, etc. We weren’t the only ones in the restaurant wondering since there were others wondering the same thing too who went up to the counter and asked for their bill personally. On top of that, the waiter was new and didn’t even know that their specialty menu existed! It was really awkward explaining to him how much my item cost while paying for the bill after he told me that he didn’t know how much it cost since he was new. I felt bad for him, but I’m not sure what miscommunication there was when training him as a waiter, either from him or staff. How do you not train your waiters to know half of their menu? That left a poor impression in my mind.In the end, I feel that it’s still a good solid place for affordable pho and noodles on Whyte Ave and near enough to University. I’d come back, but I’d be hoping for better (or at least more experienced) people serving me. Recommended.
