Why so slow? I visited the south side location recently and was pleasantly surprised, so I was willing to give this location another try. This location has a different menu than the south side one. When we arrived there was only one other table seated so we were expecting quick service. However it was a good 45 minutes before our food started trickling out of the kitchen. During that time, we watched a couple come in, place their takeout order, receive their food, and leave. When our food came, it was decent but nothing special. Prices are a bit on the higher side for the portion size. Will not be returning.

I came here the other night with my boyfriend and we were seated at the window. We ordered an assortment of rolls, which all came out one by one, and might I mention they came out VERY slowly, despite the fact that we were one of two or three patrons in the restaurant. The waitress was obliging enough but she certainly wasn’t warm, and we were never visited or asked once whether the food was okay after we received it.The best roll was probably the Crazy Boy, the deep-fried California roll with spicy may and teriyaki sauce. The roll is sliced thinly and the chunks of avocado are generous. A good contender was the Alaska roll, but the red pepper was far too crunchy and detracted from the overall mouthfeel of the roll. The grilled asparagus was a nice addition, as was the soft, permeating cream cheese. We ordered other rolls as well, but nothing very remarkable. All in all, the presentation passes, the service is mediocre, the food is average, and the prices are reasonable. For two people, five rolls with waters came up to about $60.On a side note, the inside of the restaurant is quite nice. The tables are dark wood and there are hanging lights above. A big tree in the centre of the restaurant makes everything feel authentic and look absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately, since it was still light out when we had dinner (around 6pm), I guess there wasn’t any incentive for them to light up the tree, which is a shame, because it’s beautiful when lit. I love the romantic atmosphere of pretty lights.I will likely come again, but it is definitely not my go-to sushi in E-town.

Flaming Unagi Roll. Just like a dish we had in California, dramatic presentation and amazing flavour to the eel sauce.

All the Raw Sushi. Perfectly balanced fish vs rice – 2 or 3 bites per piece! Rice slightly warm and presentation is very good considering this isn’t over-priced dining. MY EXPERIENCE IS WITH THE GATEWAY BOULEVARD LOCATION.

I have frequently attended here and there are two things that I love about this restaurant. The superb food and the beautiful decor in centre of the room, the cherry blossom tree. However despite this I can completely understand the lack of customers. Which is most likely due to the poor customer service. Unfilled drinks, no proper utensils, server disappearing, no menu descriptions, and lack of professionalism where the servers serve in sweatpants and flip flops and poor manners. However despite all this I would eat here again, but not dine in, I would only order take out.
