Supper at Kyoto tonight. Restaurant has plenty of room, many empty tables however private rooms are full. We are seated quickly by a friendly wait staff. A few minutes later another waitress arrives with menus. She returns with water and tea. We ask a few questions about the menu while she keeps looking away from us while she answers. She takes our order before leaving the table. Sushi, salad, bento box, edamame beans, soup and soy all arrive separately ( several minutes apart) from the same waitress. Our food is served on plates bowls and cups that are chipped. Flavors are average , service at our table is disappointing and restaurant cleanliness is less than acceptable ( sticky table, an off smell in the restaurant and dirty bathrooms).
