Homely tea house. This is my favourite place to hang out with friends. I like their tea. But, I absolutely love their samosa.

Poor service. This place used to be awesome! The Tea Tenders used to work their bums off. These new guys NEED to take some lessons from the olde school staff. It’s all about the service or the customer goes somewhere else. I already have. 🙁

Good tea, terrible service. I’ve been frequenting Steeps for the last decade; it’s a great place for a nice sit down on a convenient location. The decor is great, and the atmosphere is comfortable. But the last few times has been less than great. There is this asian girl who works there and I find her quite rude and unhelpful. She cannot get up from her seat to do anything. I appreciate a laid back environment, but it gets quite a bit unprofessional when you ask her for something and she won’t get off her computer to help you.

Expensive, but I like it.. The range of tea is good, and I don’t own any tea plantations. The tea is not bad, but it is not worth the price, nor is it particularly good. However, it is obviously a business which has bills to pay, so I don’t mind if they profit from my purchases. They’re not outrageous for what they sell, just, not cheap either.I like the music, and the decorations, and the power sockets in the walls which allow you to spend as long as you like with your tea and laptop. If I had as much money as I liked, I’d go here every day, rather than making my own tea at home. But I don’t, so I only go when I am splurging.I’ve seen people complain about the Chinese girl working there, but she seems polite, helpful and courteous to me. She just isn’t super hyper friendly is all.

Rude staff. I used to love this place and I still do. Except, this chinese girl who works here treats us so rudely. I don’t know if it’s something we did or just the way she is. She is the only one thing that ruins my great experience in steeps every time I come here. I remember this place used to be very friendly and welcoming. The cozy atmosphere is just not here anymore. Other than that tho, steeps is an amazing place.

Service with a smile?. I love Steeps by comparison to most other loose tea stores because of its unique and comfortable environment. But the Whyte avenue location has gone down hill in regards to service. Twice now I’ve been given the wrong tea, when ordering ‘sweet christmas’ I have once received ‘sweet vanilla’ and once received ‘christmas fruits’. First time it was an acceptable mistake but now I think they’ve been giving me other teas on purpose because she told me today that ‘sweet christmas’ has been out of stock for months and claims that tea I bought monday was old and she could tell from the label and smell. Really? one very angry drive home later I found the receipt and can’t wait to go back in and prove it to her! she was nasty throughout the entire encounter after she’d told me on the phone she’d exchange it.I still love steeps but I’ll be going to glenora from now on and getting my tea on whyte from Cha Island.

Good Tea, sucky service. My husband and I stopped by the Whyte Avenue Steeps on morning as they were opening. The lady who was serving looked rather angry and unhappy. She snapped at my husband for touching the tea canister that housed teas she was using for customers (he just touched the canister; didn’t open it or anything). She kinda ruined the experience for us, but the eta was really good.Sadly if the service doesn’t buck up, one could get tea as good with friendlier service at other tea places opening around the city.
