Our visit on September 30, 2017 for lunch was a success. We had the pork and cabbage dumplings which were good. More like a dumpling at a Dim Sum though so a little disappointed that they didn’t have more oomph. I had the Mount Qi soup with sliced noodles as my main dish and my friend had the meat sauce with sliced noodles. The soup was good at first but the noodles kept absorbing the soup juice and I ended up with more volume of noodles than I started with. I did enjoy the flavour of the soup and added lots of the provided pepper oil to spice it up even more. My friend enjoyed her bowl more than I did, she doesn’t like spicy food and she didn’t have the swelling problem that I had. The one thing that I was really unimpressed with was the state of the woman’s restroom. It was disgustingly filthy.

Liang Pi with sesame sauce, Mount Qi Roujiamo, Scramble Egg and tomato tapa noodleTang Bistro has been one of the places ive wanted to try for a couple weeks now, im happy I did. Liang Pi is cold noodles, and its pretty good. Had it with sesame sauce cause spice is life, and it was delicious. They use 20 different spices and you can really tell. Roujiamo is a Chinese Hamburger, and was also tasty. This flatbread stuffed with seasoned pork had good spice and good texture but for 8 bucks its kind of hard to recommend over a Big Mac. Cant think of anywhere else in Edmonton to get it though, so I guess its worth its weight. The tapa noodle scramble egg and tomato was the meh part of the meal. The noodles and sauce were decent but it wasnt on the same level as Noodle Feast in the south.People been saying this is a better version of Noodle Feast in the south, its better in the sense it has more food selection. Not better in the sense of noodles though. Service was fast, friendly and with the prime location right on 109st in the University area, this place will be here for long time.Sal says: Just Try It@adubalicious says: it was aight. Go to noodle feast for hand pulled noodles. These ones were inconsistent in texture and had less flavor options.#yeg #yegfood #food #foodie #foodporn #foodgasm #foodpics #foodstagram #instafood #delicious #hungry #yummy #dinner #lunch #chinese

I wasn’t sure what to expect cuisine-wise from Tang Bistro. I figured it may just be another run of the mill Chinese restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the menu. They describe their food as modern authentic northwestern Chinese. Cuisine such as theirs is very popular in Vancouver, but I personally haven’t come across any restaurants in yeg that serve this kind of food! My fianc and I shared the big plate chicken (small size) >> sauted spicy chicken, potatoes, green peppers, and onions on a bed of hand pulled noodles. It was delicious! We were told their noodles are made in-house daily. We also tried their pork and cabbage dumplings. They were just ok, a bit lacking in flavour. I will definitely be back!

Had the hand pulled noodles last night with chilli oil and ground meat. Sauce was smoky and spicy, noodles had a good chew and the veg added a nice crunch to it. Cant wait to go back

A trip with friends near the University ended up with a trip to Tang Bistro – a newer restaurant that has been open for several months and specializing in various types of Chinese food. The restaurant was about half empty when we got there on a Weds night, and we were seated almost immediately. We ended up ordering our own dishes, and I ordered their Chinese hamburger (which I had when I was in Asia) and their rice with braised pork. The rice bowl overall was a bit small but satisfying. It felt just like a regular rice bowl though, nothing too special. Of note is that the rice is not sticky, so it may be harder to eat. The meat in the burger was limited but what was there was good. I found the bread a bit too hard though.Service was fantastic. You can tell the owner cares as he goes around and talks to others. Prices weren’t too bad but portion sizes are a little on the smaller size. All in all, recommended.

The interior is nice, I believe they’ve renovated a little bit since Urban Diner. I found that the service was good. My waitress asked me if it was my first time there and offered recommendations without me needing to ask! There are both fluent English speakers and Mandarin speakers available. I like the idea of using food as a universal language to bring information and understanding on a culture. In this case, it would be Xi An, China. Comparing the food to Noodle Feast, I found that their noodles are quite chewy but were a little bland even as I mixed the sauces with the noodles. I had the hand pulled noodles with chili oil sauce and meat sauce. Prices are higher due to location and portions are relatively smaller.
