I visited this restaurant for brunch/ lunch and has a reservation. The restaurant was very busy, as expected because of the time of day. We sat in the middle table, close to the door, and it was rather cold with the traffic exiting and entering the restaurant. The first thing I observed was there was only 1 server for the entire restaurant, and a bartender/busboy. As you can imagine, service was somewhat pleasant but very slow. When I commented on same in an effort to validate the server, she commented that it was the usual ratio of servers to guests. Hard to believe that ratio would be conducive to good service. The server was able to get answers to questions we had about the menu, but did not have knowledge of gluten and egg free items, what meats and cheeses were a part of the charcuterie board, or what the soup of the day was. We watched all other tables get served food before us, despite arriving first (tables of 2, ours was a table of 5) and waited nearly 35 minutes for our food and waited to order as well. The food was above average, but not worth the wait. I have Valentine s Day reservations which I will be cancelling as I do not wish to return.

This review is bitter sweet since I am a strong proponent of supporting local non chain establishments. Pros first, best croquettes in town, a must have! The meal fell short from the brunt chorizo orecchiette, bean laden vegetable cassoulet, to a bitter lavender creme brle.

Simple , more sauce in the crepes than meat. Cocktail are on the pricey side … Table by the door is certainly not ideal. Staff was ok .

We went here for dinner. I had the beef bourguignon and my date had the duck sandwich. I also had the Orange Hall cocktail. My meal was absolutely delicious. The beef was very tender and the cocktail was well balanced. I went home and attempted to recreate the meal the next day I loved both so much. The atmosphere was dim and romantic, with great music and pleasant staff. Will be back for a show or a meal or drinks soon!

We recently went to the Almanac for our staff party. We enjoyed delicious food, excellent drinks, a great sound system and perfect service. We love to support young, local entrepreneurs and this place has it all! Thank you Dom and Josh! We had an awesome time! I will be back for regular menu and drinks in the near future.

I discovered this Plc when I was picking up my #winterwishes prize at the strathcona office. I had the duck salad and a pint of beer. It was very tasty! Will be back for sure!

Great food, and a great atmosphere. The portions were a bit huge, but there is nothing wrong with that.I had pork belly which was tasty, and huge. We also had a great charcuterie board which can make or break a restaurant for me. This one was quite great.Check it out if you’re looking for some great food, a good drink, and an adult atmosphere on Whyte.
